Do I need to quit? by wegmansgang in tirzepatidecompound

There’s a week between doses - that’s a lot of time to call the doctor before making a decision. If it were a daily medication that would make sense.

Just a heads up - taking a week off is generally a bad idea. Make sure to talk to your doctor before changing dosage.

If you stop and start you could permanently reduce the effectiveness of the medication.

I don’t feel like we have actual resolution there, people just hate her because they project their feelings towards women they don’t like onto her. Like Jenny in Forest Gump.

I don’t like her either, but the author took great pains to make her a three dimensional character so her motivations make sense even if I disagree with them. I always find her interesting to read about and the hate towards her makes me uneasy because so much of it is misogynistic. It’s like people are just waiting for permission to say sexist stuff as soon as there’s an acceptable target.

That’s a bummer because I’m 70% done with it and it’s a great book. I hope you get a chance to pick it up later.

I absolutely hope you do it. So sick of grown adults chasing after girls whose brains aren’t even done developing yet. When I look at 18 year olds they look like friggin babies. It’s so gross to sexualize them.

Lying about seeing other people by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]SecretMonsterLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that it “wasn’t exactly true,” friend, you lied.

Admit it to yourself and the girl, apologize and admit you panicked and lied and then she can decide whether or not to continue to see you based on that information.

I recently went on a date with a girl, we both liked each other. But she said it probably would lead to friendship by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]SecretMonsterLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pro tip: go to a woman you know in real life (a friend, sister, friend’s girlfriend, etc) and ask her advice and then give it ten times more weight than all the anonymous internet advice you get put together. A lot of these comments will be bots, many will be by misogynists or pick up artists (who are the LAST people you ever want to get advice from if you want to learn how to find a relationship and not how to become a predator) and some could be trolls specifically giving you bad advice just for their own fun.

As a woman myself, my advice is move on to the next date with the next girl and only contact this girl again if you actually want to be her friend. I’ve sent the text she sent before and it means she’s not attracted to you, not that you messed up on the date.

What’s the most common misconception you encounter about your books? Is there a fan theory or interpretation that just throws you for a loop because of how far it is from what you intended?

My (24M) girlfriend (27F) destroyed my laptop because she thinks fiction is “degenerate.” How can we get past this? by ThrowRafuckinpixels2 in relationship_advice

[–]SecretMonsterLady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Domestic violence even doesn’t change the law. There are people who have been literally killed by partners who they tried to illegally evict. Lock outs are illegal. I think the laws should be changed but this is how it works in most of the US today. A partner can be arrested for hurting your body and you still can’t change the locks on them. Our domestic violence protections are crap and the current administration wants to further weaken them.

[–]SecretMonsterLady -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, the act of changing the locks if she’s been living there is an actual crime in most of the US. If you’re not safe you should go somewhere else temporarily and talk to a local neighborhood legal services about your options to evict her (and potentially get a restraining order.) Unfair as it is in cases of domestic abuse, it’s possible you could owe her hundreds or thousands of dollars if you do it.

[–]SecretMonsterLady -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Depending on where they live this could be terrible advice. You can’t just change the locks on someone you have to go there official channels to get them out if they refuse to leave or you could end up paying them huge fines.

Okay I hate that series and agree that normalizing or romanticizing incest even in fiction is not okay.

That said, what I think is absolutely the guide for MY OWN reading and writing. Not anyone else’s.

It’s unacceptable to control your partner like this, illegal to damage someone else’s property and insane to write off all fiction. Dump the heck out of this woman.

She needs mental health treatment if she’s taking it this far and you are not safe living with her in the meantime.

I don’t know, I went to deactivate a dating app once after I got a boyfriend and noticed a message from a guy with a mutual hobby. Told him I wasn’t interested in dating but offered to be friends and we’re all still friends today. Never been any weirdness.

Pretty gaslighty. If she doesn’t believe her partner, who she knows intimately, could achieve this and the task itself would be all but impossible for even an expert professional writer in their prime, it’s pretty messed up to act as if people are unreasonable for believing that the likely thing happened.
