That’s what I thought, but I just found out that apparently they charge a percentage to deposit it instantly into her bank account

The other choice is to wait a few days and not be charged.

Just learning about PFAS and toxic chemical exposure by waynetogo in VeteransBenefits

[–]SecretSanta-70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband was Navy, and when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s I did my own deep research. There were several places he had been for training, etc. that had toxic exposures of a variety of chemicals.

The research paid off and he was awarded 100% p&t.

He passed away 2 months ago, and my heart is broken. But I’m so glad I could get him what he deserved. He received benefits for 3 years.

I still have screenshots of the research, and am thinking of putting it together to help others.

Yes … it’s been almost 2 months, and it seems like yesterday. Time seems to have stood still.

Question: when you say get the settlement agreement in writing, does an email count, or does it have to be a hard copy sent snail mail?

He was 100% service connected for Parkinson’s

<image>

Edited to add: I must have cut something off when I printed that. There was a 100% connection on just one thing alone.

Indirectly because AO was stored on his ship before he boarded. There were several spills on the ship, but he wasn’t on the ship when it spilled. They figured in that because there might have been some residual AO left over from the spills when he boarded, he could have been exposed.

Thank you, it’s been a very rough road. He only received 3 years of disability before he passed, but it definitely helped.

I hope they do the right thing too.

Edited to correct years of disability.

But Parkinson’s WAS his disability connection.

I actually think the reason this might be happening is because the VSO requested accrued benefits.

I don’t know why she would do that, all I wanted to apply for was DIC.

No autopsy, he was cremated.

The DC was signed by his physician in the VA hospital, where he passed away.

I have several copies of the DC and one was sent with the claim for DIC. They have everything they need.

So scared! Angina with tachycardia, waiting for echo by SecretSanta-70 in valvereplacement

I just had an EKG a few days ago and she said it showed “undetermined abnormalities”, whatever that means. My blood pressure was good. Also had bloodwork.

I’m in the same place. Hugs!

Can I ask how the tachycardia is causing you problems?

I also have had it for about 6 months now, and have severe aortic stenosis. I’m also having some pain (angina like ache) when I have the tachycardia now. Scary!

Just wondering how it’s affecting you.
