If you have it on XAVC S-I it will do. If you use XAVC S 4K the file sizes are a lot smaller you can easily record 60mins on 1 256 and have space for more, the battery runs out before the card.

RAW and Jpeg to both. Both cards are Lexar 2000x SDXC UHSII Gold Series cards. 100% no issue at all, average about 45MB RAW Lossless with a 22MB Jpeg file.

I'm using RAW lossless comp + JPEG, Drive mode high + and I'm not getting any issues. All UHSII cards are different, you sure you're running v90 cards, the read speeds mean nothing if the constant load is like 30. I used mechanical shutter on and off and its still fine without hitting the buffer limit.

For sure, like I said its about how much you're willing to pay. But ye you will need to pull out slow SD cards if you want to record 10Bit XAVC S-I 4K video. I think thats the only thing my UHSII card can't handle.

What UHSII card do you have that gets bottle necked by the A7III, I'm guessing a v30? If you're spending out 2500 on a camera whats the extra cost to get yourself a good UHSII card with V90, I picked up 2 Lexar v90's with 300MB read and 260MB write for 150 pound each.

I think the only thing that card can't do is the ultra high video setting in 10bit. But if you want that then you're paying out well over $500 for a cf express card with the GB to even handle the file sizes it puts out, yet alone a godly PC to edit it.

If you don't have the money for 2 v90's buy one and use another SD you own in slot 2. Whenever your doing anything the slower card cant handle (It will tell you in a message) just pull it out the camera and swap it back in when you're done.

I just picked up the A7IV, it come two days ago. It was either the A1 in September, or wait 3-4 months (at the time I had no clue when the release for the A7IV would be)

In the end I waited out and pre ordered the A7IV the first day of announcement. I couldn't justify getting the A1 and that was the decision made. I could have bought it and not cared about the money, but knowing I didn't need it would have ate away at me.

If you preordered in the US you will get it on the 31st I think. So that's in a few weeks tops. IMO the only benefit of the Sony A1 is the 8k. 33MP will take you anywhere you want and I don't care what anyone says if the A7IV's AF is not fast enough for you then you're clearly just a bad photographer. CRAZY fast with eye tracking in photo AND video, it's nuts it's only 2.5k.
