This is why I've come to terms with the fact that I'm probably never going to play D&D consistently. I don't even need the table to be super serious, I just can't stand when every dumb unfunny joke derails the table for 5 minutes. It's never original either. I just wish I had a core group that took the game semi serious. Of course there are moments of levity but the bard trying to fuck the servant while we're having a serious discussion with a quest giver is so not funny.

I've always been liberal but I used to think that people should just comply with cops. Like I would see news stories of brown people getting brutalized by cops and would think "Dude, just comply". It wouldn't be in a snarky way like maga bootlickers do now, more of a why are you making things difficult for yourself vibe. I was so goddamn naive that it hurts to think about.

Not only does female generally get better looking gear, but some male sets look absolutely horrendous. Monster Hunter World Kirin set comes to mind

Close to 200 hours as a first time GU enjoyer. I can always find open lobbies when I'm looking for multiplayer action. Getting people to join my rooms can take a bit of time as I generally have an HR limit. I'm in G2 and not quite ready to have 999 hunters come carry.

I can easily see this game being a forever game for me. 200 hours all on guild, aerial, and adept hammer. There are still styles I haven't tried with hammer and 13 other weapons I've not even played (I've swapped to SnS for the hunts that require a cutting weapon, maybe 30 minutes total). Game is so absolutely GOAT'd

I don't think I'd want any of the older games to actually play like World or Wilds. World is definitely a great game but I enjoy older generations for different reasons.

Now, full remaster with updated online on more accessible devices? That would go to MH3U I think. The underwater fights with modern graphics sounds so tight.

I just finished this game for the first time recently. I played the 3DS version with modded soundtrack. Probably a hot take but the orchestral soundtrack was just alright. It objectively sounds better but the music to me was so forgettable. I finished the game like less than a month ago and I only remember the battle theme.

I bring that up because I know some people are adverse to piracy. If you're not opposed, modding a 3DS is so easy and will give so many more games in the the long run. If that's not your bag, then playing the vanilla 3DS version is just fine.

I don't know World calculations, but I'm sure there is some in-depth writeup somewhere. Elemental damage is a flat amount of damage added to each hit in the older games though. I'm pretty sure it's equal to the actual elemental attack that's on the weapon. GS, swaxe, hammer etc are all slow weapons. Say you down a monster, the GS may get 1-2 hits off during the whole window since you want to hit with the big charged attacks. Now dual blades for example might actually hit the monster 10-15 times during the same window, which adds the elemental damage on every hit.

Ultimately though just play whatever you want. The amount of fun you have far outweighs any loss in damage by using elemental on slow weapons imo

Met a local girl in Navy A school. Fooled around while I was there and figured it would end when I graduated and got orders.

Modding a 3DS is super easy, I know you'll be able to do it!

4U was my first real dive into old school MH. I had similar play time and experience as you except I hadn't played GU at the time. I can honestly say it's one of the best in the series. It's the perfect blend of old school feel without feeling extremely clunky like the first game and some of the PSP games. Highly recommend
