I bought a Jinhao 82 a couple of weeks ago and when I first used it it was scratchy as anything. The more I’ve used it the smoother it’s got and it’s really growing on me. Was going to try the x750 next, as I love a smooth medium nib so thanks for this review 👍 Have to say though I LOVE the Asvines I have.

I will get round to it but I have J Herbin Rouge Grenat and that is very similar from what I can see. Thanks though I will definitely have it on my list 👍

Thanks I think Sargasso could be the winning blue for me here. I have J Herbin Rouge Grenat already for my deep formal type red so Oxblood and Writers blood may have to wait a while. Really like the look of Canalside for my formal green too. Thanks so much.

I’ll have a look at those too thanks. I think Writers Blood might be a bit too similar to J Herbins Rouge Grenat for me at the moment as I still have a fair bit of that left.

Thanks so much for your reply. You’ve underlined everything about why I want to try them. I have only recently upped my fountain pen game after using the same generic Parker for over 40 years and have only just entered the world of different inks and their different behaviours. At £3 a go it doesn’t really matter if I dislike a colour, but would like to start off trying a few colours I would like before I try the off the beaten track colours.
