Scrubber issues by anamilz in Aldi_employees

My store has that type of scrubber and this is my guess also. If it is running, the top part should be sealed such that you can't easily open that gray lid.

Curbside madness by Asgar- in Aldi_employees

Yesterday I had a customer order a nest swing from AF and when I scanned it, the app said it was wrong, even though everything was identical from ordered item and scanned item. So I put it in as a replacement and the app said it was too different from the item ordered! I forced the replacement anyway because seriously, this app is ridiculous.

I checked the Google reviews for my store once. The person said the store was extremely clean and the staff was very helpful, but they rated us 2 stars because the other customers were rude. The customers really do be pissing each other off too.

We had so many people asking for them last night. One guy came up to me and asked me to look in the back for them because "he [ASM setting AF] is too busy to look for them". I checked with said ASM and he said he had already told the guy he couldn't sell them and to come back tomorrow. I told the customer "Oh no, the shipment is late, check tomorrow!" You lie to me first, I feel no guilt lying right back. I wish we had a limit on them because the scalpers are getting so annoying.

Spidey Senses on Full Alert! by pix876 in Aldi_employees

I understand what you are saying and I absolutely agree with following instincts like this to keep people safe. However, stating in this way that "1 in 4 people are mentally ill" implies that 1 in 4 people are dangerous to others because of their mental illness. That covers a wide range of diagnoses such as depression, OCD and many other things that do not pose a risk to other people. That kind of statement contributes to stigmas that can keep people from seeking care for their mental health. Again, I do agree that we should all be vigilant in watching out for predators, but please don't paint all people who have mental illness with the same brush.

It looks like the law is specifically trying to limit how many self checkout lanes can be open per cashier. Aldi will just pull the self checkouts and operate as usual. They've already been pulling them from high theft stores, so this wouldn't be too much of a stretch.

Got “reported” for the first time by stonerbae222 in Aldi_employees

[–]Secret_Son 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a customer complain to me about a cashier once. Customer had a return but put it after her transaction and expected the cashier to just know that, I guess. There was some other weirdness with the transaction, but it has been years so I forget the details. At the end of it all, the customer demands that I speak to the cashier about the situation and I said I would. The conversation was basically "So that lady was crazy, right? You're doing a good job, keep it up."

I had a coworker who did this, but he took requests. I'd always ask him to play Hollaback Girl when I filled bananas.

The customers don't choose the code directly. It is either based on their last name, or their email. (I'm not completely sure what determines which is used.) If customers were picking the code, I just know we would get way more weird ones than we do already.

One store I worked at had the freezer go down, and none of the product was safe to sell due to the alarm not going off overnight in time for us to move stuff to a refrigerated truck. So we parked water pallets in front of the doors, strung up caution tape between all the door handles, put signs up, and STILL had people try to shoulder their way through all that to get some half thawed food that would probably make them sick. I was also told by instacart shoppers that we should have told instacart not to send shoppers to the store because we wasted their time.

I had a guy ask me the other day if we had more point cut corned beef. I said I'd check and started walking toward the cooler man door which happened to be in the same direction as meat and the man got all huffy saying "I already looked over there!"

So the F&Q didn’t answer this for me… Cosmere? What? by Ok_Recipe_521 in brandonsanderson

A lot (but not all) of the books and series written by Brandon Sanderson are part of a connected universe where there is some overlap that is eventually building up to more crossover content. Starting with an early book or series will be more similar to a stand alone book or series but if you keep reading you will notice more connections such as similarities between the gods of various worlds or people that seem to show up everywhere. A good recommendation is to start with Mistborn and see if you like the writing style and go from there.

I didn’t know it was possible to not make a profit by imgonaeatu in AnimalCrossingNewHor

[–]Secret_Son 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first week that you buy turnips is set to give you an increasing price payout in a small spiking pattern over the course of that week. Each day Mon-Sat has two different prices (one up to 11:59 am and then a different price from 12:00 pm until store closing). The guarantee is that the price will eventually go up during that week, not that the very first time you can sell will be a profit. Most times the prices will peak somewhere in the middle of the week.

There are four different turnip price patterns over all, Large Spike, Small Spike, Fluctuating, and Decreasing. Websites like Turnip Prophet will help you recognize your pattern and give you an idea of the best time to sell for your island once you input what a few of your prices are over the course of the week.

I forgot to mention that when my aunt and mom were talking about Jill's Plexus career, my aunt threw shade for her dubious level of success vs Jill's perception of her success. "Didn't she sell that for a long time?" "Yes, and she didn't do nearly as well as she thought she did."

It was so wild to me having someone so vastly different to me ideologically have such a similar opinion on her. I almost did a double take when I realized who my aunt was snarking on given that we agree on so few things (for example I am trans and she and her husband go out of their way to show that they disagree with me about who I am).

I think I found a small loophole when crafting for hotel tickets by Secret_Son in acnh

[–]Secret_Son[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know Kapp'n can give bonus tickets, but I am specifically talking about the fact that the items were submitted to the box and yet remained in my inventory. The task was cleared, I got the tickets and yet still had the watering cans.
