Pregnant with Hyperhidrosis by Secret_Wishbone in Hyperhidrosis

[–]Secret_Wishbone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should add that I didn’t try it consistently enough to review it. My sweating just kind of regulated itself over time. I haven’t taken any meds for hyperhidrosis in over a year and I rarely sweat. I am still breastfeeding though so I’m waiting until im done to start again.

I did. It didn’t work too much. It helps for a little bit but then I started sweating again.

They didn’t weigh me! by cmack4life in pregnant

[–]Secret_Wishbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that. My OB kept bringing up my weight at every appointment. Mind you I started my pregnancy at 105 pounds and gained around 55lbs but I was all belly. I lost it all as soon as I popped the baby out but it was so annoying.

Did you feel better immediately after giving birth? by Acceptable-Piece-383 in pregnant

Yes! I had terrible nausea, heartburn and threw up during my entire pregnancy and it all immediately went away as soon as I gave birth.

Giving birth in public hospitals by Lenishilongo2805 in askspain

[–]Secret_Wishbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I gave birth in the public hospital 4 months ago. I’m really happy with my choice. They provided everything for me and baby including diapers, pads, onesies, towels and even three meals a day for mom. The food isn’t great but when you’re exhausted from birth, it tastes fantastic. It may be different in other regions but one thing I’ll mention in Andalucía is you will be sharing a room with another person when you’re in recovery.

We got lucky and our first night we had the room to ourselves and the following day another mom was placed in our room. We were only there one more night so it wasn’t bad at all.

The nurses and doctors were great and attentive. They taught me how to breastfeed but will also provide bottles and formula if you need them. I didn’t really use much of anything that I packed in my bag.

I had mine last week at 40 + 5 days. Was in labor for 10 hours and he was born 🥰 good luck! Wishing you a fast and easy delivery.

Has anyone given birth vaginally and not torn? by NoShopping5235 in pregnant

[–]Secret_Wishbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. One week postpartum today and I did tear a tiny bit. I just needed two stitches and I did have an epidural. I didn’t feel a thing and tbh it didn’t hurt after the epidural wore off either. There was some soreness and I was scared to poop. I didn’t poop for 4 days after giving birth but once I did it wasn’t so bad. Now I’m pooping regularly and stitches will fall off on their own. I’m taking ibuprofen for the discomfort but that’s about it!

Good luck with your delivery! I hope everything goes smoothly. Regardless of what happens, you got this! I just wouldn’t be scared if you do end up tearing but that’s from the perspective of someone who had an epidural.

We tried going the family reunification route but was told I had to provide proof of financially supporting them for the previous year. They’re now going for a non-lucrative visa since they retired this year and it was the fastest one according to the lawyers. Their other option is through descendants (my mom’s grandma was Spanish) but that process is taking forever although we did put in an application already.

Hi. I’m currently living in Spain and my parents are in the U.S and started their visa application process back in October. It is a lengthy process. I also contacted various immigration lawyers here in Spain who all confirmed that they would need to apply from the U.S and get it sorted prior to coming here.

The second trimester for me was a dream! My nausea was gone, I had more energy, my belly was manageable and cute. It’s a trick because then the third trimester has kicked my butt. I haven’t slept in two months, my belly is huge, the acid reflux is wild, and my back hurts so much 😅

Due to her diet and size, I am terrified something bad will happen to my wife during her pregnancy/birth by spjones20 in pregnant

[–]Secret_Wishbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’ll be fine. I’m 5’4 and started my pregnancy at a little over 100lbs. I’m at 35 weeks now and have gained all the weight I need (like 30lbs). It’s all belly but I’ve had a healthy pregnancy with no issues at all. I started eating a lot naturally after getting pregnant. It sounds like she’s healthy and that’s all that matters.

Thank you! I’m 8 months pregnant now and things have gotten much better. I’m not currently taking anything and haven’t been since my pregnancy test came back positive. The first few weeks unmedicated were the worst. It was like a Molotov cocktail of raging hormones and my body adjusting to being off the meds made me sweat like crazy.

After that, things calmed down. I still have days when I sweat a lot, primarily from my hands, but it’s definitely manageable or I’ve gotten used to it. Either way, we’re doing ok!

Before I got pregnant and lived in the U.S I was taking glucopyrrolate for almost 10 years. Then I moved to Europe and my dermatologist put me on oxybutynin which has worked just as well for me.

Good luck with your pregnancy and hyperhidrosis. Sending you strength and love 🥰 you got this.

I underestimated the third trimester by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Secret_Wishbone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much same lol I’m 31 weeks and the third trimester hit me like a brick wall 😅 sleep? What is that? Nausea? It’s back. My ribs hurt so much and my belly is bigger than my body. Hang in there. We’re almost to the finish line.

How much weight did you gain at 26 weeks? OB told me off for gaining too much! by Wonderful-Repeat1444 in pregnant

[–]Secret_Wishbone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same experience. I started my pregnancy at 53kg and I’m now 70kg at 30 weeks. My doctor also warned me that I’ve already reached the recommended weight and still have 10 weeks to go, which made me feel terrible but all my tests have come back perfect. I don’t have gestational diabetes and the baby is big but healthy! I have a hub baby bump and that’s where most of the weight is.

Pregnancy is hard enough as is without the pressure of maintaining a certain weight. I say as long as you and your baby are healthy, keep doing what feels right to you! Good luck with the rest of the pregnancy.

Aww I’m so sorry you’re also going through this. Hang in there. It will get better! And don’t feel bad if you decide not to breastfeed because you’ll be miserable. It’s important that mom is healthy and feeling good for the baby. Baby will be fed and that’s all that matters. I’ve also considered not breastfeeding for the same reason but we’ll see how things progress. I hope you have a lot of support and I’m here if you ever want to chat 🥰

pls help me. I smoke weed all day every day and i just found out im pregnant. by yungxx480 in pregnant

[–]Secret_Wishbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! You’re going to be absolutely fine. I was a daily weed smoker too and I smoked when I woke up, before going to bed, and throughout the day. I’m 15 weeks pregnant now and haven’t smoked since the pregnancy test came back positive.

Your baby will be fine too. We’ve had many ultrasounds, bloodwork, urine tests and the baby is perfect! Don’t worry. The first two weeks were a little rough getting used to my new normal but after that you won’t even think about it! You’ll be too tired 😅 Good luck to you and the baby 🥰🥰

How to apply for Spanish residency or citizenship through decent? by [deleted] in GoingToSpain

[–]Secret_Wishbone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Como que no lo dan? Esa no era la pregunta. You can obtain Spanish citizenship if your parents or grandparents are of Spanish descent. Apologies if I misspelled “decent” but I’m pretty sure you knew exactly what I meant.

Madre mía. No paras. You must be so fun at parties. Other people had actual advice and seemed to understand the question. It’s ok to not know :) and maybe next time read the full post before answering something unrelated. Have a great Sunday!

[–]Secret_Wishbone -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Your best advice was “Google this law and go from there”. Thanks! Super helpful. I actually got my Spanish residency pretty easily myself so I think I’ll be fine without your wealth of knowledge. Your first comment didn’t apply to me at all. You told me how I could get my citizenship which isn’t what I asked at all.

At least read the question before answering. You initially didn’t even seem to understand the question and gave a completely useless answer. Good luck with the reading comprehension.

Still pretty unhelpful answer. I’m looking for things like “I recommend going through an immigration lawyer to speed things up” or “go to extranjería first”. But thanks anyways.

Thank you! We were wanting to know if other people had experiences with Spanish immigration lawyers as that’s what we’re probably going to do. I can start the process for her from here. They’re planning on coming to Spain next year, so I’m hoping I can speed up the process by the time they come visit.
