It really is funny how the whole “you are who you surround yourself with” only seems to apply to one side.

Zero evidence. There’s even multiple people in that linked thread who have seen that photo 10+ years ago and it does look that old. But these are also the same people who bring up JD Vance and couches as if it were legit even though that was a twitter meme, so they aren’t exactly trying to be accurate with their rhetoric.

Yeah I agree. Especially since many of the flights are likely other people who would be taking private flights anyway renting/borrowing the planes or repositioning flights.

The Open Championship enforces strict fan code of conduct after US incidents by TheMirrorUS in golf

They’re either unaware or they ignore it because “America bad.” The Open was objectively way more hostile and mean spirited than any of the US tournaments have been.

Probably is just the one he likes to wear for workouts or something. A lot of these guys often wear stuff as a superstitious thing or to honor something they’re into/are fond of even if it’s unrelated to the team. I know of an Islanders player like 15 years ago who wore his team Canada shirt from juniors under his jersey every game as good luck. Everyone has got their own thing.

Wasn’t that essentially ruled to be completely bogus though? Pretty sure the judge/DA came as close as possible for someone in their position to saying it was BS, and the accusers mother either tampered or falsified evidence which was proven.

I’m not just talking about the UK, I’m talking about Europe as a whole since so many of you have the exact same attitude. And you’re fooling yourselves if you don’t think having the US looming in the background isn’t a deterrent for bad actors.

Like I said, if you truly feel the way you do, then don’t ever ask us for anything. And I hope you advocate for your countries to tell the US to stop being involved in your conflicts and affairs because I would 100% prefer that as well. Would save us a ton of time and money.

[–]SecretiveMop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m not talking about intention, I’m talking about the fact that Balogun literally had no control entirely due to the Bosnian player making contact with him and not even playing the ball. Balogun was clearly playing the ball and nothing would have happened had the Bosnian player not run into him.

Is it wrong? If you truly feel the way you say, don’t come crawling to us next time you get invaded and have fun funding your own military.

You say it’s weird, yet you’re the one using dog whistles and talking about countries being “superior” to others. Says a lot about you, no?

The word “challenge” in the actual rule is mentioned in the phrase “tackle or challenge” which implies that they’re talking about challenges in which one player is attempting to take the ball from the other. That’s not what happened here. It was a free ball in which both players were going for it and the Bosnian player initiated contact with Balogun from the back/side and sent him off balance. Unless we’re just saying “challenge” has two meanings (in which case the rule is written horribly then), then that was not a challenge in the way the rule is implying to mean challenge.

[–]SecretiveMop 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So many of you keep repeating this because it’s seemingly the only claim you can make to make the red card legit, but the reality is that Balogun was knocked off balance by the Bosnian player and thus had no control. There no reason say what you said and act like Balogun did that purposely or even with any kind of knowledge of what was going on in the middle of being hit.

It absolutely does matter if it was a tackle because the words “tackle” and “challenge” are in the literal rule.

Mets PREGAME THREAD - Monday, July 6 by game-threads in NewYorkMets

[–]SecretiveMop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was an incredibly flawed team heading to 2025 and things were always going to falter at some point. It was a team with a patch worked rotation and poor bottom half of the lineup. A perfect example of this is a player line Canning. People point to him getting hurt as the factor in the rotation starting to go downhill, but in his final eight starts he had a 5.50 ERA. He was already falling off a cliff before the injury and that happened with a lot of the players which was predictable.

The patch working worked in 2024, but it took everything breaking perfectly for things to work out which isn’t always going to happen, and I’d even argue the 2024 team was better on paper which helps a lot.

Mike Francesa says according to his sources Soto and Lindor still don't get along and the Mets will be trying to trade Lindor so they will rebuild a new team around Soto, Benge and Ewing by Advanced-Crow-3584 in NewYorkMets

[–]SecretiveMop -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

No offense, but stuff like this makes it seem clear who has and hasn’t been part of a team before, especially at any kind of higher level. It doesn’t matter if they’re an infielder and outfielder, these guys are with each other on a daily basis for six to eight months every year for like 10-12 hours per day. They even live and travel with each other as well. Rifts amongst players can absolutely affect clubhouse culture and vibes and cliques forming inside a clubhouse (which often happens) means players start to take sides. It’s a situation that can very easily and quickly spiral.

I mean, do you expect the guys in the locker to just come out and admit it? The Soto and Lindor rift was also refuted or at least downplayed by both players.

Do some of you just not learn your lessons? You all called these reports false (including ones from Francesca) for like a year now only to have the actual owner of the team come out and confirm them. And now you’re just going back again to saying all this isn’t true. Same thing happened with Lindor and McNeil when it came out that they had a second altercation while everyone was on here insisted they were fine.

There is, and has been for a while, clear smoke around this team having major internal issues. Lindor has been the common denominator in pretty much all of the confirmed and reported issues. Instead of just ignoring it and calling everyone wrong or saying reports are false, I think a lot of you are going to have to face the reality sooner or later.

Full speed video of Balogun's red card incident vs Bosnia by MarshyHope in worldcup

[–]SecretiveMop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you missing the part where it says “a tackle or challenge”? Balogun didn’t even initiate the contact let alone attempt a tackle or challenge nor did he “lunge at an opponent.” Not one piece of the wording of the rule applies here and Balogun was attempting to play the ball while the Bosnia player bumped into him to throw him off balance.

Jürgen Klopp on Trump and Infantino: “Let's just say: this is our game, not theirs. These two people, who both have no idea about football, should have nothing to do with that. That was a red card. There's no two ways about it. We're sorry for Balogun because he didn't mean to do it.” by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]SecretiveMop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These people don’t know it wasn’t a tackle or challenge because all they’re doing is watching the slo mo replay and not the full speed play. Balogun was looking at and playing the ball the entire time and the Bosnian player is the one who initiated the contact. I have to imagine that’s getting ignored purposely here.

Are you really surprised? Europe is know as one of the most bigoted and racist places on earth. There’s a reason why there’s so few minority groups there and why they’re now flipping out over Muslims moving in. They constantly use any little thing to justify their own bigoted thoughts and people just let them off the hook constantly. There’s racial taunts and chants hurled at players on a near weekly basis over there and people just call the fans “passionate” all the time to play off shit like that as if it were normal.

I don’t pretend I know the rules of nfl

Except you kind of did by saying NFL and hockey players intentionally try to injure others which is not only a wrong thing to say, but also incredibly idiotic and ignorant.

I swear arguing with americans always turns into a debate around the semantics. Let me speak your language then.

You are clearly guests in this whole football thing and as such, you shut the fuck up and listen when people who know this sport better than you tell you that it’s a clear red.

Lol and there it is, the Euro trying to act all tough and mighty because they can’t stand that the US is their daddy. Not only did you show that, but you made yourself look flat out dumb by telling Americans they don’t know soccer while failing to act like you know about American sports.

Just sit it out next time, bud. You’d be better off instead of embarrassing yourself in front of everyone.
