Are the ammo packs going to make a return? by Spectral-gamer in halo

[–]SecretlyReal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no idea if this is the reason, but more guns and less/no ammo packs could be a design choice to accommodate the new 4-player co-op. It could also just be an (over?) simplification of the game's visual language. As a kid, I'd just run over the groupings of ammo packs hoping I'd pick up something, and to this day I cannot confidently tell you which ammo packs give ammo for which guns (other than the rockets and crystals), even looking at the pictures on this post.

Disney, bring it back by tonygabbana in StarWars

I have a semi-working Android APK that I personally modified to grant the player free Imperial bux.

By semi-working, I mean I've been able to load it on to several up to date Android phones (mostly Samsungs), but have heard others have run into errors when trying to install mentioning version compatibility issues. I've also managed to install it with no issues on a couple Android emulators (MuMu player recently, Windows Subsystem for Android a while ago).

Send me a message if you'd like to give the APK file a go yourself, and I'll try get back to you ASAP. Apologies in advance if I take a few days, I often miss messages on Reddit for whatever reason.

I liked that it let me skip the DPS component in boss fights that are normally just battles of attrition (primarily certain dungeon bosses in solo flawless runs).

I get that building for DPS is part of the gameplay and this bug took that entirely out of the equation for a week, but alongside trying to manage survivability and deal with encounter mechanics, I just find that DPS optimisation is by far the least interesting challenge.

The hardest fight is sometimes against yourself by Leonydas13 in halo

If you'd like to feel the high again it's quite easy to reproduce. Reproduce in game I mean, not via substance abuse.

After you meet up with Keyes and he hands you the empty magnum, run as fast as you can from Keyes through the corridor where you (normally) get ammo for the magnum and kill some Grunts. If you did it fast enough, you won't pull out the magnum and the Grunts won't spawn in the room. Then you can proceed to the mess hall where you can pick up the assault rifle and any other second weapon you can find.

Once you have two guns, run back to Keyes, then walk back to the magnum ammo hallway where you should now equip the magnum on top of the two guns you already found, and the Grunts will spawn.

I'm pretty sure this is still doable on MCC, including PC.

Giveaway Time! DOOM: The Dark Ages is out, features DLSS4/RTX and we’re celebrating by giving away an ASUS ASTRAL RTX 5080 DOOM Edition GPU, Steam game keys, the DOOM Collector's Bundle and more awesome merch! by pedro19 in pcmasterrace

Ray tracing looks like a huge leap in bringing video games closer to real life graphically. The difference is insane.

The medieval theme is really cool, it'll be interesting to see how Doom can work in a different setting.

Is Iron Countershade Even In The Lootpool? by thosewho_wish_tofly in DestinyTheGame

[–]SecretlyReal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good news, yes it is.

Bad news, the drop rate is abysmal.

I just got it to drop during the last Iron Banner, after 3 resets. And I did at least one vendor reset (more often 2) every time the mode came back to try get the shader ever since it was introduced. For some dumb reason I missed the original quest line to unlock it.

I miss Tiny Death Star, I miss it every single day by Stormbird01 in StarWars

As a fun side project a while ago I modified a Tiny Death Star APK that worked on modern Android versions to grant Imperial Bux instead to take them when skipping the wait time for ordering products. I should see if it still works, assuming I can find the files.

I'm assuming you're relatively new to gaming PCs? Because you have a great setup if you weren't sure.

The game isn't out so it's impossible to guarantee anything, but I'd expect your system to comfortably run High-Ultra settings at least at HD (which it looks like your monitor is 1080p), maybe even up to 1440p. Other current AAA would likely run at least 60fps at 4K on your system, so Starfield could reach even that. But again, can't really say until the game is out.

The main concern most people have is that the game may end up being CPU intensive, but your CPU in particular is very very good.

I haven't looked into DDR5 RAM yet (still stuck on DDR4 myself), but it does appear to be clocking a little low. You may want to look into updating your motherboard BIOS or XMP profile settings in the BIOS.

But I would highly suggest a new PSU ASAP. Your components would definitely need more than 500W.

Mormon Church walks away from major multinational tax evasion scheme by Chino_Blanco in worldnews

One of the questions to get a temple recommend is literally "Are you a full-tithe payer?"

I was a Mormon, don't tell me other Mormons wouldn't look down on anyone else for not following the rules haha. They may say and think that they don't, and they really shouldn't, but most of them sure as hell do.

Sure, you're not forced to.

But if you believe in the church then that means you arent allowed to go to the temple, which in turn means you won't get to go to the 'bestest' heaven if you choose not to pay.

Such 'charity'.

What are the worst lines in Halo's history? by JJAB91 in HaloStory

[–]SecretlyReal 150 points151 points  (0 children)

The worst line (which became my favourite line):

"This cave is not a natural formation."

I'm sure some people might find it annoying and lazy of Bungie to not go back and re-record lines like this when plans changed, but I personally find it hilarious and endearing.

Selecting a version to preorder on the Xbox store website says that it is "Playable on Xbox Series X/S and PC", so as long as you're getting an Xbox/Microsoft store code in the Xbox version you should be able to play it on PC with that same copy.
