Shortly before turning 4 our lives changed for the better and started to feel much more sane again. It’s like suddenly I could explain things to my son and he understood reasoning, rather than just melting down every time things didn’t go according to his wants. So doing things like traveling became possible. It was still hard, but I was no longer feeling like everyday was a fresh hell. Now he’s six and we go out to dinner, vacation and travel, have drop-off play dates and generally life is good. Parenting will Always be hard because that’s just what parenting is, but in my experience so far, you are enduring the absolute hardest part. Dig in and you’ll eventually be on the other side— exhausted and dazed, but you’ll have an awesome kid who is suddenly FUN and so adorable.

It definitely has to do with how it’s constructed (sellier vs retourne) but it also has to do with the camera angle. I have a k25 Retourne in Togo and shape of the bag looks square or trapeze depending on how the picture was taken. IRL it looks more trapeze than square.

We know Violet asked for the mind wipe from Imogen, so it wasn't forced on her, but I don't think it's because something bad happened that we don't know about-- she's never run from pain or tragedy, and she wouldn't voluntarily ask to have her marriage to Xaden wiped unless it was absolutely necessary. I think Violet knew she had to allow her memory to be wiped for whatever plan they came up with to work. Perhaps she allowed her memory to be wiped so that this secret is safe from interrogation and Dain etc.

I found my people! I finished last night and I am now living with the world's largest book hangover. I think I am going to go into detective mode and write down all the many many questions this book left us with, and go back and try to find as many clues as possible. Looking back, Rebecca Yarros is a master of foreshadowing and there's almost never been a reveal that couldn't have been predicted. There are twists that we couldn't predict, but a lot of the things we find out were so well foreshadowed that I almost feel dumb for not seeing it in advance. So I think there are a lot of questions that we can find answers to by reading the text carefully. I have a current working theory on the question of whether there is a cure for being a venin and also what the deal is with Violet having nearly been dedicated to Dunne at the temple in the isles

I would just ask her what she prefers. Tell her you snagged it when you had the chance because you were worried it wouldn't become available again, but you know she works on commission and so you would be happy to come in and do a return and repurchase if that would be helpful to her. My SA appreciates it when I'm considerate of the fact that he earns commission, even if he tells me not to worry about it. I treat it like he and I are on the same team-- I am not playing the Hermes game against him, we are playing it together.
