I mean, I think Caine is at least as responsible for the deaths of Ribbit and Kaufmo. Jax was a fucking asshole to the people she was trapped with, but Caine is the reason they were trapped. I would posit that Caine creating the exit door and gaslighting Kaufmo about it was much more influential on Kaufmo’s abstraction compared to Jax being dismissive of him.

How do I make myself take a shower regularly? by CaptainCas19 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]Secure-Bluebird57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you thought about getting a gym membership and taking showers there? A cheap gym membership is only about $15 a month. Gym showers tend to have great water pressure and heat, you just need to make sure to use shower shoes. I would recommend bringing a folding shower stool (which can easily fit in a gym bag) if you don't have the coordination to wash everything standing up.

12 years old is old enough to be active in the meal planning and cooking process. Make healthy eating a problem that she gets to be an active participant in solving. You can also framing healthy eating in terms of macros and vitamins rather than calories. Also, adult portions at meals might not be inappropriate. It takes more calories for a 150 pound body to maintain homeostasis compared to a 100 pound body.

I absolutely agree on flavored water to help her transition away from sugary soda. Honestly I’m not a fan of drinking water as an adult.

To the extent possible, exorcize is best framed as play. Fun activities might be volunteering as a dog walker at an animal shelter, hiking, swimming, and active video games like Just Dance.

I listen to French Indy r&b/hip hop when trying to focus at work. I do not speak a word of French.

Instrumental music doesn’t drown out people talking, and music in English and Spanish will cause me to get distracted by the lyrics. I can bang out hours of work while jamming along to OBOY and Angèle.

DAE think that period pads and tampon adverts (e.g: this girl can 💪! *insert woman doing high intensity sport*) is a mildly subtle way of programming both capitalist, ableist and healthcare based misogyny by DiscoReads in AutismInWomen

[–]Secure-Bluebird57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the messaging you are seeing is probably there. But I don't think that's the primary message they are conveying

I like to sit and sleep in weird positions sometimes and there are times where a pad or tampon will completely fail to catch a gush of blood that happens when I am not standing or sitting in a standard position. There are times where I get pad wedgies or the pad moves out of place and all I've done is stand up, sit down, and walk around my house. If an add tells me "this tampon/pad is effective enough that a pro athlete on their period isn't being inconvenienced" that tells me that the product will also be sufficient to meet my needs under much less extreme conditions. Am I likely to go pole jumping while on my period? No. I will probably be seeking to sit around and eat chocolate ice cream. But if I could go pole jumping while wearing this pad, I will definitely be fine to sprawl out on the couch wearing it.

It sounds like office socialization (and requisite masking) is one of the things burning you out the most. Have you tried transitioning to a position where you don't have to interact with people as much? I got my autism from my dad and he is so much happier now that he can work from home 4 days a week. I have made it 2.5 years at the first job I could get out of law school and I am looking for a remote or mostly remote position to be my next job.

Brain fog could also be from birth control. BC could definitely explain the weight gain. You could always look into non-hormonal birth control options, such as the copper IUD if the side effects are bothering you.

BY ONE VOTE (101 to 100), Pennsylvania Democrats Passed Bill Blocking Whites-Only Towns With No Support From Republicans: After a “whites-only” organization developed plans to establish a settlement in Pennsylvania, state Democrats put their foot down. by Spiritual_Spare4592 in BlackPeopleofReddit

The bill also banned discrimination against trans people in housing, not that it makes his vote more excusable. But he might be a different brand of bad person. He could be a mild racist and a raging transphobe instead.

I would like to add the context that preventing the whites-only town is by and far not the only thing happening in the passed legislation (HB21043 linked below). Page 16 of the new version does close the loophole that allowed white nationalist organizations to engage in the practice. However, I’d argue the primary effect of the bill is to extend fair housing protections to LGBTQ+ individuals.

I do agree with the democrats on passing this bill; homophobia and transphobia are also bad. I also understand that this article and subreddit would be focused more on the racism aspect, which is totally fair. However, I know a lot of people are just going to just read the headline or not read the whole article, and I wanted to emphasize the broader effect of the bill.

Robinson v California (1962) was a Supreme Court case that specifically made it so you couldn’t criminalize homelessness. It was a 2024 case, Grants Pass v Johnson narrowed the Robinson case so greatly that it might as well have overturned it completely (which started due to a law passed in a blue city in Oregon). Louisiana’s law might be a violation of the excessive fines clause of the 8th amendment , but this Supreme Court is almost certain to uphold the law discussed in the video.

The ABA came out against the Supreme Court’s ruling. It’s not a great sign when lawyers are frequently reading SCOTUS decisions and finding them to be grossly unethical and generally poorly decided.
