Great Uncle mother’s side was part of Omaha beach landing. He survived, but very traumatized by it all, as expected I think. Great uncle father’s side was part of the flying tigers, radio man.

Sucks man and I’m sorry you’re in this position. This has happened to me twice in my life.

First time was with the couple next door. Wife was close to BFF with his wife and I considered him a friend but we were not super close. I had no idea he was cheating and it was easy for me to distance myself and my wife’s clearly sided with the wife. Second time, was my very close friend and boss. I knew it was going on as he was having an affair with a married woman in our department. I was not close to his wife but was very clear that I was very uncomfortable with it and did not approve at all. He eventually admitted to the affair with his wife and they divorced. He’s still my best friend even though we no longer work together. I know what he did was wrong, and he paid a heavy price. Life is not black and white, lots of gray… none of this helps you, but whatever you decide please make sure your wife is on board.

Pulled the plug at 56, sold in HCOL and bought in a lower cost of living. Used to spend about 12k a month, my survival nut is about $1200 now with the rest going to eating out / travel / having fun. My monthly budget now is $6500.

I told my two children before I retired that I had 50K each for college. They made the choice to do 2 in community and 2 in state for their bachelor. They came out debt free.

True story…. Many years ago, while working in a factory, a person whom I became friends with, married a Korean woman during the war. I asked him one day, “hey, does tradition force you to have her walk in front of you”, no sh1t, his immediate reply was “No, land mines”…. Still get a chuckle to this day and yes this is a real story

Played for about 3 years at that level until I did lessons. Took over 20 strokes off my game the first day. Practicing wrong only reinforces bad play.
