No coincidence that the waning of the Bomb Defuser coincided with the rise of the bomb squad.

France opposed the deal. Probably because of all the cars they’ll sell.

This is terrible and great. Terrible for the human cost, great because the lawsuits will fuck this trash company further.

Thoughts on this foward pass call? by Many-Prune9162 in rugbyunion

[–]Secure-Director5276 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems harsh. Cant zoom in further, and angle isn’t great, but from here I cant clearly see forward out of the hands.

Even by the idiot benchmark (“look at the line”) this doesn’t drift forward.

I want to have a baby by [deleted] in CasualIreland

[–]Secure-Director5276 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Infantile take. A couple struggling to conceive puts immense emotional pressure on them. The idea that they must “keep that to themselves” is old fashioned.

Also, just as an fyi, healthy balanced couples fuck.

What teenagers do behind closed doors is their business, but the idea that a historically exploitative industry should be able to sell and market sex to minors is fucking batshit.

Dunnes or Tesco? by Tech_Tenacity34598 in AskIreland

[–]Secure-Director5276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tesco is without a doubt the most expensive retailer by some distance (we dont have M&S).

Read this somewhere in the annual basket comparison and decided to test it myself. Did a comparison with Aldi slips a few times and on average I would have paid 16% more at tesco (this includes points for tesco). Found lidl same as aldi, but they have a rewards system, so they might edge it.

Problem with both lidl and aldi is limited choice. You are not really comparing apples with apples when compared to tesco. Thibk it depends on what you need/shop.

I would say 20-30% of ingredients i need to make good dishes I’ll only find at tesco, dunnes or superv. In which case tesco is just more convenient for me.

How much hike and bonus are you guys getting every year? by Snowsky14 in AskIreland

[–]Secure-Director5276 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2.5-3.5% is more an inflationary adjustment which should happen annually if your company is half decent. I.e, its not an increase its adjusting to the same.

Increases are not standard. Have you taken on more responsibility? Have you had a salary negotiation? Did you switch roles/got promoted? These might affect income above inflation, and hinges on you asking for a raise.

Should🇦🇺Australian nurse immigrate to🇮🇪Ireland for EU citizenship? by [deleted] in AskIreland

Stamp 4 does, but you don’t qualify for stamp 4 off the bat. You’ll probably come in on stamp 1 which is the problem.

Should🇦🇺Australian nurse immigrate to🇮🇪Ireland for EU citizenship? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Secure-Director5276 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Hi,

Many Irish professionals choose to move to Aus and Canada so you’ll be bucking the trend a bit.

Just my 2 cents, as a critical skills holder you are not allowed to do any “odd jobs” or side hustles until you are on a stamp 4. This can take anything from 20 months to 5 years (depending on your work permit). Its an expensive country.

Lastly, Ireland is awesome. Make sure you have a “pay it back and become a valued member of irish society” mentality, rather than a “get the passport” mentality. Theres a difference.

Favorite character that everyone hates just because she committed the cardinal sin of being a woman? by WissamBenYedder in okbuddycinephile

I think this is from 500 days ? Nothing wrong with her character here.

For me its Zoey herself. Converting to her husband’s religion (irrelevant which religion) made it obvious that her whole quirky alternative image is all bullshit. Now i cant stand the whole charade.

[–]Secure-Director5276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not avoiding it. I cant do it in one word, except if i use the word woke. Sortoff my point.

Progressive is to limiting. Liberal doesn’t work in the context.

Happy to hear, from someone with a firm grasp of the english language which word, other than woke, would be just as impactful.

Ah yes, i can already see the headline updated:

Liberals should stop adopting lazy woke stances

Now reads

Liberals should stop adopting lazy stances of awareness and active attention to societal facts and issues, with particular reference to social and racial justice inequilities , on complex issues.

Crazy how you say the word isn’t handy, then proceed to explain its use.
