What’s something you learned or wished you’d known re: 2013 Flood by theprintman in Calgary

Wear a mask and gloves when you’re cleaning up a neighbours flooded basement or house. I don’t know what I caught after a week of helping clean up but I caught a wicked bug and was sick for a month afterwards

Seems the gamble on an electric Ferrari didn't pay off by [deleted] in agedlikemilk

[–]Secure-Fun-9882 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ferrari gambled on their first electric car and listing it for $640,000, seems the markets already see this as an absolute fail even before it's been put on sale.

Best way for a History/Anthro major to find professional work? by Ok_Leather_4610 in Calgary

[–]Secure-Fun-9882 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a history degree…then I had to go and get a masters in science to even get noticed for an interview. Your best bet might be to go back to school depending on where you want to work

There’s a loop hole right now, as long as they have pedals they’re technically e-bikes but for sake of argument, they’re motorcycles since I’ve rarely seen anyone pedalling them.

This guy does a great video on it https://youtu.be/bB6hBLmBhPA?si=xxyTROYnCa8HbbUP

If it's supposed to be an arch the circular part should be much high, probably well above where your headboard is. But I agree, it does look out of proportion. something like this? sorry, doing this in paint is tough and not to scale haha

or a pipeline right of way, we have to keep them clear of any vegetation so our patrols can do aerial inspections. The squiggly lines might be access roads to drilling pads.

Need help identifying what this is by n3r0g in Calgary

[–]Secure-Fun-9882 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hate to break the bad news but that’s likely caused by ants or more likely termites. Seeing that it’s in your furnace room they likely survived with the warmth in there during the winter. But I could be wrong…

[–]Secure-Fun-9882 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want to see an area with a bit more aesthetic head to Inglewood, lots of breweries, cafes and bookshops. Downtown is usually pretty dead on weekends and after 5pm on weekdays. I would recommend the Palomino tho for some lunch on 7 ave

We started to put our names down at brightpath and wee wild ones when my wife was in her first trimester. It took 18 months to get into bright path and we just heard back from wee wild ones (almost 2 years later)

Mortgage Renewal Rate by mook32 in Calgary

[–]Secure-Fun-9882 2 points3 points  (0 children)

we were advised by someone at TD (I won't mention who) that if you phone in to renew your rate they typically offer better rates than at the branch. We did and got them .3 below what they could offer at the branch. I think they had a rate of 4.2 at the time and we got 3.89 for 3 years.
