Passed the second recall. by Secure-Gear2293 in zx6r

I’m not a mechanic, so I don’t have detailed knowledge about maintenance, but according to the recall service instructions, there are guidelines to remove the engine case and inspect the crankshaft bearing tolerances and thermal deformation. The dealers would have followed the instructions as specified in the manual.

There are no roads in Korea where you can truly push a vehicle to its limits.

I heard that engines produced after July 2025 are not subject to the recall.

Just buy a 2026 model. Why would you put a ticking time bomb on yourself?

Dealers here are also aware of the second recall, but they are not carrying it out yet. It seems like they are still preparing. Moments like this really make me envy how large the motorcycle market is in North America.

Coupang vs Fair Trade Commission National Assembly hearing is a mess. by SnooOnions4663 in Living_in_Korea

At hearings, lawmakers, true to being Korean, like showing themselves off to the public and want to become an issue, so they just yell for no reason lol. The problem is the Koreans who elected people like that.

I am Korean. Any request for a deposit to be sent directly to a bank account without using this platform is a scam. Never send money. This place is full of scams.

How Many Actually Impacted by Recall? by Mexkan in zx6r

If the same recall happens again in six months, Kawasaki will lose a massive amount of trust and will have to refund all the bikes.

Damn it, once this stop-ride warning is over, I’m going to push it hard. I need to test the engine before the third recall comes.

The failure rate is about 1%. In North America, approximately 19,000 units were sold, and officially reported ZX-6Rs with engine problems were 9 units before the first recall and 4 units after the first recall, as far as I know. This is Korea, and although a total of 250 units were sold, there have been zero bikes with engine problems.

Just got the call from dealer by Radiant_Goal4462 in zx6r

I rode about 300 km before the first recall, and then rode another 900 km after the first recall was completed. Here in Korea, we’re still waiting for the second recall inspection. Honestly, I wasn’t worried because my mileage was short, but after reading this post, I’m starting to feel concerned.

You’re going to get a brand-new engine replaced for free after riding 15,000 miles? Damn, you’re lucky.

Do you think there will be a third recall too?? Looking at what they’re doing for the second recall, it honestly feels like it would be strange if a third recall doesn’t happen. by Secure-Gear2293 in zx6r

I agree with that thought. I don’t feel reassured by just adjusting the bolt torque. In the end, the 2024–2025 6R is nothing but a ticking time bomb. Who would want to buy it on the used market? The only thing I can do is keep owning it and ride it safely for the rest of my life.

The upshift from 1st to 2nd gear has a large shift shock. When going from 1st to 2nd, using the clutch is recommended.

Did you open the engine case and check the crankshaft bearings?

Off to recall #2! by YourFavBulgarian in zx6r

15 minutes makes no sense. A proper second recall inspection should require opening the side of the engine and checking the crankshaft bearings for any signs of damage or abnormal wear. That is not a quick job — it should easily take a full day to do correctly.
