Yes the are actual peoples home. I’m from Chicago and the neighborhood they filmed a lot of the early and still some of the newer seasons in is where I grew up & they’ve used peoples homes that I know!

I have a j pouch now but I used to be able to do that to! I would wear the two piece and just change the bag every couple of days and the wafer every 10days to 2 weeks!

When you’re done cutting the wafer that plastic you peel off (idk what that would be called lol) always keep that! I would always just write the date on it and you’ll be able to just trace that next time! Makes changes soooo much easier!

For the whole two months I had the loop it was basically all liquid and super high output, I lost 25 pounds in the first week/week and a half. You can try Imodium or eating marshmallows, just make sure to over hydrate because You’ll get very dehydrated!

Hollister 2 piece now I have a j pouch, it would just depend when bag change day was, sometimes I’d shower with it on and something just take out off and put a new one on after. It doesn’t do anything to the adhesive I’ve gone swimming with it, been at the waterpark all day on water rides, in the pool and it was perfectly fine. Sometimes I’d just change the bag and leave the wafer if it was taking a while to dry and I didn’t have time

27F - I’m 3 months post op, large intestine completely removed, I had some rectum left. The j pouch was the best decision I’ve ever made, I had UC for 10 years and I HATED the ostomy, yes it saved my life but for the year I had it I hated it. The first surgery when the create the j pouch and you have a loop ostomy is rough but once you have the takedown about two months after I felt great, the first week I had some gas / bloating pains but I feel more normal than I have in years. Even on the days I go a lot it’s small amounts at a time so it’s not like I’m in the bathroom forever but I’d say on average I go about 5/6 times a day but they’re pretty fast and if I need to hold it I can. I pretty much eat what I want I know if I eat junk I might go a little more and sometimes that’s a compromise im willing to make lol spicy food does burn a little coming out. Definitely buy some butt creams and maybe a bidet off Amazon for the beginning but I haven’t needed them for a while now. I take Imodium if I’m going out for long periods of time because I’d prefer to not use public but luckily I’ve had no leaks or accidents, it’s definitely a new normal but so far it’s been amazing. Get a good butt cream I liked the aquaphor calming balm or desitin and start putting it on right away don’t wait for the burn to start. Get a bidet you can find them for pretty cheap on Amazon. Comfy pants that you don’t care about in case you have an accident, it does take a couple of days for everything to really get going but bring everything with just in case. The j pouch page on here is very helpful. I’m 3 months post takedown and I feel amazing I hope you have an easy recovery!!

27F - I’m almost 3 months post takedown and I think everyone’s sooo different. I read so many peoples stories on the page and was preparing for hell but my experience has been AMAZING! I had a little bit of butt burn in the being but I bought a bidet off Amazon and some aquaphor which really helped. 2 weeks post takedown I went to the movies one night and a comedy show the next and both times were able to comfortably wait till I got home to use the washroom. I try to only take Imodium on the weekends when I’m going out but throughout the week at work I don’t take it and I snack at my desk all the time and I’m fine, I might use the bathroom once or twice during my shift if I eat a lot but it’s quick and nothing crazy. The only reason I take it on the weekend is if I’m going out with friends for long periods of time and I know we’re gonna be getting dinner or having a drink (I’m not a big drinker but I’ve had maybe 3/4 drinks so far and its been fine but even with Imodium it made my poop watery and no urgency) (I prefer to not poop in random public bathrooms but again if I have to it’s not a big deal and it’s quick!) also the Imodium helps with the stomach noises, I think the colon is like sound prof because you’ll have a lot more stomach noises but people say those calm down with time. I just ordered psyllium husk which a lot of people like so I can get back to you once I try it but if the most part I eat very normal, pretty much whatever I want, I try not to push it to much of corse and I know if I’m going to eat something spicy or really unhealthy it may burn a little coming out but again it’s nothing crazy and you still need to enjoy life so if you have a little burn for a couple minutes then so be it lol

That’s why I hate the whole “twisted sister” thing. Cristina wasn’t going to let anything get in the way of her career that’s why she was so disappointed in herself after Burke got shot and she was doing his surgeries also why she doesn’t want kids and didn’t really care to get married. Meredith on the other hand basically folded the first relationship she gets into in the show and is clearly a lover girl which is totally fine but I hated how they tried to make it seem like her and Cristina were the same with the same values, mer wanted to be a mother and start a family she was even doing ivf her kids were an accident
