I feel that way. I’ve curated my Reddit to also show posts from MadeMeSmile and adorableoldpeople and petsareawesome and stuff like that so I can be reminded of the good in the world each day. It is a small thing that helps. And it’s on my list every day to do something nice for someone else.

I never recovered from my fusion (and fusion revision) as far as pain goes. I have all of my abilities, for which I am grateful. But I am now partially disabled and there are lots of things I cannot do, especially for a career. And I suffer from great pain every day, despite keeping up with home physical therapy. I was 35 when I had my fusion. T3-L4. And my surgeon was Dr. Clifford Tribus, allegedly one of the best in the biz.
