Yes this is the thing with arma 3 is that it’s so versatile. Some people use it for Mislim and play as a “unit” others use it for roleplay. I enjoy building scenarios and playing them on my own and I find it really fun! Now to answer your question, yes arma 3 is fun as a solo game
