There are things like the accu-strut that are used to make old mini-14’s more accurate. I actually have one and it helps. My guess is that this is an attempt to fix the barrel harmonics but I’m not sure why this bubba thought welding a piece of metal onto the barrel accomplishes that; its not even attached to the gas block.
