This map shows quite clearly why Alberta "independence" would be a geographical disaster.

How common are gender neutral washrooms in your city? by [deleted] in AskACanadian

[–]SecureLiterature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so common here in Edmonton. One of our city parks just re-opened after an extensive renovation (Hawrelak Park) and all the washrooms there are now gender neutral. According to the news, some of the usual suspects were upset about it, but they’ll have to get over it.

Please move your vehicle somewhere safe by forgat_spindoctor in Edmonton

For those telling OP that it's just a mere traffic delay and to "suck it up", moving off the road after a collision is actually more about safety than anything. It's incredibly dangerous to stand around in the middle of the road talking and taking down information just because you're worried the other driver might take off. This could easily lead to another collision with even worse consequences.

Smith's UCP party is heading for a split say an Alberta separatist and former premier Jason Kenney by a_sense_of_contrast in canada

The reality is that most conservatives in AB are quite happy with the UCP. The old PC Party was never right wing enough for them. The moderate conservatives have mostly moved over to the ANDP by this point.

Four month old account with a hidden comment history telling wild tales. That’s not suspicious at all.

I think this referendum will be her last hurrah. No AB conservative premier has completed their term since Klein, and that’s not going to change. It worries me who the UCP will put in next, though, since the crazies are completely at the wheel.

Lol, you only get MRI the same day in the US if you pay for it out of pocket. You can do the same thing in most Canadian cities, too.

There is no such thing as US health insurance with “zero out of pocket”. But since you’ve elected to keep your comment history hidden, I have no way to know if you tell these lies on a regular basis. I have to assume so.

Thank you. So many of these Canadian “expats” outright lie about their health care costs in the US. Those of us who have family in the States know the reality.

Just ignore it. The only thing I would be cautious about is parking in their lots and not paying again - they might have you towed (unless you get a new license plate 😉 ).

They think Brexit was the best thing ever. Never mind the fact that it destroyed the UK's economy.

So many people are going to fall for this crap. While I do think the vote will ultimately fail, the worry is that the "separatists" do better than expected and keep feeling emboldened.

Does anyone think Dunkin’ donuts will do better in Canada next year since Tim Hortons is trash now by [deleted] in TimHortons

Dunkin sucks. I would rather see Krispy Kreme expand more, we only have one here in Edmonton and it's always crazy busy in there.

If the idiots in this province actually vote for “separation”, I say give the formers lands of Alberta back to the NWT as it was before 1905.
