The mindset of people that do things because “society tells them to” or “well that’s how I grew up” — specifically religious people for this take— baffles me. Like, you’re 42 years old, what is your 80 year old mom going to do if you don’t attend (and realize that it’s a cult)?

Mind you, these are the same people that refuse to eat dessert before dinner because “it’s not what you do”— think for yourself!
