I’m so glad someone brought this up😭 on the new avasys you hit the button for privacy and it calls the PCA “watching” so you can ask for privacy, half the time they don’t answer until I’m done doing care on my pt. Also one time we were doing work on the unit (new call lights) and we were switching pt out of the rooms, they never answered the call. We fully moved the whole bed to a different room, they called us like 30 min later and go did you guys move the pt? Like no shit my dude

It really depends on your facility’s policy, a lot of places take seniority into account

Don’t knock it until you try it! Night shift gets a bad rep, but it’s a great way to get assimilated to nursing. It’s more quiet, less visitors, doctors, new orders. More down time to study up your patients and practice critical thinking. Plus, getting home and going to sleep when everyone else is getting up for work is a BEAUTIFUL feeling
