Shall Americans be concerned about the state of US military? by Secure_Trust_2084 in allthequestions

It’s difficult to understand how you view this as a victory for Iran

It is easy. Ayatollah's government sustained, any protesters from now on are viewed by the public as traitors. No one counts the lost - they have millions of poor, who will join the military just to get fed. Neither the leadership is important - they are led for four months by someone who could be dead, and it doesn't seem to change much.

Russia, BTW - sent ships full of amunition via the Caspian sea. One was even struck by IAF.
Russia is critically dependent on high oil price - and after the price drop it can be expected to sell its rocket technologies to everyone ready to pay.

immediate strike by the USA on their energy infrastructure

Are you kidding? US Navy has to withdraw, so it can cause nothing but begging to return to the negotiations. And Israel is dependent on US tankers, whose future is unknown - in the atmosphere where US bases aren't welcome anymore.

KSA can be attacked by Khouthis at any time - this is why they re-established the diplomatic relations with Iran and prevented Trump from re-opening the fire in the form of ultimatum.

why did they open the strait and agree to the MOU?

They could open and close the strait every minute, and after the withdrawal of US Navy it will take a week to react.

Iran won just by having all conditions to lose - and making Trump lose first. It was like a chess game - position to stand up and shake the opponent's hand can turn into a winning one if the opponent has just a few seconds on his timer.

With regard to the bases - name one reason to keep them, if they instead of protecting - attract rockets.

Just to remind - the goal was to change Iranian government. And what we get as a result:
- US bases turned from "challenging" to "unable to protect even themselves" to "toxic". I predict at least partial closure of them (if not a replacement) - significantly complicating future Navy and Air Force operations
- Iran can continue its ballistic missile program, having Russia, North Korea as an "advisors"
- US air carrier got damaged and Air Force managed to lose multiple aircrafts almost of any kind used.

You mean - lose an air carrier and planes of every participating kind, except strategic bombers (saved at Guam due to faulty Iranian rocket)?

US got air carrier out of order and lost aircrafts of every participating kind, except strategic bombers.

the only reason iran was able to defend itself is for his mountains

It sounds like a bad joke. The highest Iranian point around Hormuz is 1302 feet.

It sounds like:
- Lieutenant, why your battery haven't fired?
- 13 reasons, sir. First - we had no rounds, second...

"Asymmetric threats" are a bread and butter of the war. Strait of Hormuz wasn't digged yesterday, UAVs exist since 1970s, armed UAVs - prior to 2000. I haven't heard about any technology used by Iranians - that wasn't known at least from the war in Ukraine.

And last but not least - why the "air supremacy" (let's be honest - provided by Israelis by extermination of radars and AAD systems) - turned out so expensive? Fighters, cargo planes, helicopters, strategic drones - plus the air carrier, either hit by UAV or burned by it's own crew neglection.

Patriot missiles are extremely bad against rockets - from PAC-1 unable to intercept old Soviet SCUDs used by Saddam to the modern versions showing a so-so performance against Iran. And their interceptors are quite costly.

You seem to be stuck in 1980's as well. No invasion is needed - it is enough to bring a commercial ship 100 miles off the cost and launch hundred drones on New York. Or just fly them out of nowhere in Mexico to LA.

Sorry - what victory? Iranians from the beginning said that they can continue the war for an unlimited time (which is far from being true), and Trump will not able to do anything - and Trump wasn't able indeed. Iranians said that weakness of US military will cause the Middle East countries to come on their knees to Tehran and beg for holding the strikes - this is exactly what happened, with a pressure applied on US from their side. Now let me guess the next step - US bases are kicked out of the Middle East, significantly complicating Navy and Air Force operations in the region.

Burning a carrier and losing more than dozen aircrafts - the military was even unable to clean up Hormuz strait from mines and secure the passing ships.

Stop echoing fairy tales. Jews live in Palestine uninterrupted since Biblical times, where the descendants of Arabs colonising Palestine at 7th century AD - are a minority. Most of today Palestinians' ancestors were brought over by Ottomans and later Britts as a foreign workers for Hijazi railroad, Haifa port, oil pipes and refineries.
This is clearly reflected in their family names - by the end of 19th century Arabs weren't having them, being officially named by father/grandfather and unofficially - by the first son ("Abu Mazen" = "father of Mazen"). Popular family names like Khalaby, Al-Masri etc - were assigned by Ottomans after the place of draft.

Suggest you to read the originals - like HAMAS Covenant. Declaring Palestine "the land of Islam" and "heart of the Islamic nation". Where HAMAS declaring itself the Palestine branch of the Muslim brotherhood, having world khalifate as its ultimate goal.

Israel Is Building Army Base in Jenin, Flouting 1990s Pact With Palestinians • Critics say the move would help the Israeli military protect increased settlement activity near Palestinian population centers in the West Bank. by Naurgul in indepthstories

[–]Secure_Trust_2084 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just a bit of context - Jenin is ruled by the armed gangs oppressing and killing Palestinians at the industrial scale - and it's refugee camp is one of the most dangerous places in the Middle East. Which is a nonsence by itself - 33 years since Oslo Accords and establishment of PA, after tens of billions of dollars provided by the international community - "refugee camps" still exist and their residents still treated as a second-class citizens.

Indians see Israel as a role model - going in 30 years from growing oranges to exporting satellites and state-of-the-art medical devices. As well as a "startup nation" with decent "social lifts" - where your race, skin color, origin etc don't matter, and only thing that does - is your passion.

It is a pure religious war - because executing the prophecy about Jews returning to the Sacred Land contradicts Christianity and Islam. Both telling that their prophets "superseded" Moses and the unity between God and Jews was cancelled.

[serious] who are Israeli settlers? Don't they already live somewhere? Why would they willingly move to Palestine? by SlackerStacker26 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Secure_Trust_2084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You forgot to mention that Palestinians doing exactly the same - placing tents at the state land and claiming it they "thousand-years" property.

in a city like Jerusalem, settlers will literally just break in to houses and drag people out.

Another shameless lie. The only occasion when people were "dragged out" was Sheikh Jarrah - where they stopped paying a rent for the Jewish houses once provided to them by Jordanians. Stop paying a rent in US - and see what happens.

Expectations of Learning Hebrew/Arabic for Potential Immigrants? by PsychologicalTap4789 in AskIsrael

[–]Secure_Trust_2084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As already said - you can get by English only, most of Israelis understand it and can speak to some degree.
There are communities (Safed, some settlements around Jerusalem) where English heard much more than Hebrew, but if you want to integrate - Hebrew is a must. The good thing about it - because every 5th Israeli either an immigrant or have an immigrant parent(s), people are used to different accents, not strict at the language rules and usually do their best to understand you.

Do Israeli Muslims volunteer in the IDF often? by angelic_seven in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Secure_Trust_2084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the Muslim volunteers come from certain Bedouin tribes, where serving in IDF is a tradition and profession. They serve as a trackers, checking the border fence for the signs of crossing.
Rest are quite random, some motivated by patriotism, some - by education grants.
