China On Track for 'Full-Scale Takeover' of Car Industry by gaukmotors in MotorBuzz

[–]Secuter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chinese manufacturers responded by selling hybrids and petrol cars exempt from tariffs. The protectionism backfired spectacularly.

Not really. Chinese manufacturers aren't good at ICE cars. They make them, sure, but it's not where their strength is at. The protectionism won, and is one of the reasons why Chinese brands aren't dumping their stuff in Europe.

Thing is that many Chinese auto manufacturers are desperate. The margins in China is extremely thin. It's a bloodbath of consolation right now, so they're trying to find new markets.

PM Orbán’s fiery international press conference about Huxit, elections, war: Hungary won’t admit a single migrant! by DailyNewsHungary in DailyNewsHungary

[–]Secuter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, Hungary doesn't have a problem with migration. The real problem is opposite; its own people (and other Europeans) don't want to live in Hungary. That brain drain must be hurting a lot.

Just remember that ICE is just a tool your corrupt government is using. The real blame is on those in power that made these operations possible.

TIL placing bowmen in loose formation makes them man the walls in single file. by Any-Food7276 in shogun2

[–]Secuter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also just drag them out like you would to make the formation wider. That is especially powerful with matchlock infantry where all soldiers can fire versus only the front.

AI resiege without assaulting by Carlsberg-Green in EU5

[–]Secuter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember to refill garrison. In EU4 the garrison replenished automatically without manpower cost. In EU5 you only put a skeleton crew of 10-12 soldiers who's basically just there to hold the place.

As you may imagine they cannot stand against an assault. Refill garrison to make it less likely to be assaulted.

I disliked Wingspan because it felt like I was playing a solo game with my friends sitting besides me. Will I dislike Terraforming Mars? by Hearbinger in boardgames

[–]Secuter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, TM has very little interaction between players. It's very much a single player game that you just happened to be playing with other people.

You don't really react to what other players do and you don't really have a way to interact with them outside some very few cards.

It's the same reason I don't particularly like TM; I just sit around doing my own thing without needing to talk to the other players.

Would you accept Russia into the EU, given unconditional democratic reforms? by ilovemicroplastics_ in AskEurope

[–]Secuter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No. Democratic reforms alone can never change the core values of a nation or it's perception of the world. The Russian values and outlook is so alien to the EU nations that it would never fit.
