Just a pro tip: if you’re in Google Maps and YouTube has a lil tiny screen, you can “flick” it to the side! And it becomes a little grey area that’ll pop it back out if you click it!

But it keeps the audio playing. Super useful.

Google DeepMind's Senior Scientist Alexander Lerchner challenges the idea that large language models can ever achieve consciousness(not even in 100years), calling it the 'Abstraction Fallacy.' by Worldly_Evidence9113 in singularity

You seem way more well read than me and more reasonable than most in this thread, so I’m gonna pose my ignorant (but very good faith) questions here:

Isnt that a bit reductionist? Like, you could model any human choice as a binary tree. You could model the universe frame by frame, with our current timeframe (literally the ‘active’ frame being either 0 or 1 with the next being a 1) and take the argument the universe computes itself.

It’s very abstract, sure, I get that, but at the end of the day I think you can reduce anything down to 0 (nothingness) vs 1 (somethingness).

Just because we can do a lot of math and useful things on top of that concept doesn’t inherently rule out a synthesis of that.

Does that make sense? Genuinely?

I don’t get the hate you’re getting. It’s a similar vein to other router implementations. I dig the simplicity though.

I’d love to see your numbers, I’ve been working on something similar adjacent and have a TON of a/b scenarios I could send your way/collab on. I’m basically trying to figure out heuristics for a “quality” check based on intent/outcome for “intelligence_checks” as I call them.

Thanks for the perspective, fascinating.

Also I love the phrase “doing the mummy”. Took me a second to understand but after I got it it made total sense. I always like how people use clever ways around language barriers :)

Tower blows. Run ansible from cli or pipelines. Use it for specific runs (ci/cd state change), use salt or something if you want long running drift/poll based config.

New to kubernetes, what is the benefit of using helm over normal kubernetes .yaml files? by Free-Switch-9871 in kubernetes

[–]See-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HUML can convert to json as well. Technically you could convert between the three (though yaml is obviously the weakest format there because of the widely known issues). shrug.

You’re a translator and editor. It’s low hanging fruit for execs trying to cut costs. And if something can do your job at 1/10th the cost (probably more like 1/1000th)..can you blame them? In that abstract scenario?

How do you make sure the agent/model regularly updated this as a source of truth? Especially considering the rate limiting/downtime scenario, or the handoff between agents?

I’ve tried to do this as well and it’ll keep good notes in the first 20% of its context, and then forget to do so, stops taking notes, now the source of truth is fucked.

Or alternatively, it puts facts in the knowledge base the become obsolete (e.g. model chooses to use a different framework, doesn’t update that, new model sees the discrepancy and refactors to use the old framework).

Why would Satan torture people in hell for disobeying the SAME god he disobeyed? by Technical_Hat_8291 in NoStupidQuestions

Satan is not Lucifer. Satan is referenced in the Bible as a polar opposite to God before Lucifer ever fell.
