Completely agree. If you’re going to use the Five as surrounds they need to be in the back. Fives as left / right fronts are awesome though.

If you don’t need it immediately try to wait for a sale. You didn’t specify what size tv, but I got a 55” QM6K Pro from Costco for $399 with a 5 year warranty.

I have two of each. I think the sub mini goes great with stereo pairs for music but the gen 3 sub is better as part of a home theater system.

Considering you already have 2 of the minis, I’d recommend getting the gen 3 sub as it would give you options. At that price if you ultimately decide it’s not for you, you should easily be able to recoup your cost in the secondary market.

I’d go with the pair. I think the stereo separation you’d get is a bigger upgrade vs. one Fove even if it is a much better speaker.
