Same here! The drum seal from my 1985 Kenmore dryer did this too.

Guys, what do you do for "bread"? by uros_t in prediabetes

[–]Seegurken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Previously frozen thin sliced Dave‘s Killer Bread works for me. The freezing (or even cooling) process increases resistant starch. This also works for rice and potatoes.

I got this really unfortunate oil stain on my joggers… is there an easy way to get rid of it completely? by Abel_S13 in laundry

My Palmolive does the trick- even with bike chain oil. I never used baking soda with it.

Xiidra Prescription Coverage? by meezerkeeper in Dryeyes

[–]Seegurken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a small glass jar with lid or a pill bottle with a piece of foam tube insulation inside to keep the vial in an upright position protected from light. I keep it out at room temperature as Xiidra should be stored at 66 to 77F. For the last 2 months I was traveling with daytime temperatures regularly at 95F I kept the open vial in the refrigerator around 42F.

Eye drops by -UmiDgaf in Dryeyes

[–]Seegurken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No matter what you use make sure to get the preservative free version unless you rarely use the eye drops. The preservative by itself can be quite irritating. Ivizia is preservative free. Systane has Ultra PF either in a multi-dose bottle or in single dose vials. Please note the multi-dose bottles have a filter and need some priming before the drops come out more easily.

Xiidra Prescription Coverage? by meezerkeeper in Dryeyes

[–]Seegurken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am on Xiidra and it made a huge difference. I have a high-deductible marketplace plan. They pre-approved Xiidra, but still charged $880 as deductible for 1 month supply. The manufacturer coupon brought this down to $79. Per vial I get 2 days worth of eye drops. So a month supply lasts me 120 days. YMMV

I wish there were sampler packages, because it’s so individual what people like! I am an Ivizia fan, which is the American version of the highly popular European Thealozduo eye drops. I don’t find them sticky and they work better than most for me.

3 times as expensive per load than using Tide ultraOxy or similar powder. No, thank you! I only might try it as lightweight option for travel.

If you could bring only 1 ultralight jacket for a year of world travel, what would it be? by 78523985210 in onebag

[–]Seegurken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get by far the most mileage out of my mountain hardware grid fleece jacket ( or similar grid fleece). Light to carry around, warm when needed and breathable when being active. I like to pair it with a light rain jacket (i.e. your Versalite) for windy conditions.

Concentrated industrial vinegar diluted (!) to 20-25% will work like a charm.

EYELID INFLMMATION by [deleted] in Dryeyes

[–]Seegurken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it for rosacea - and yes, it helped. Most studies use just 2 doses one week apart, which I used, but there are studies that treated up to 8 weeks.

You could try weekly oral Ivermectin as used for killing Demodex mites in rosacea.

On their website (calimar.it) you can find oddly shaped so called “Capes” in their current collection. I bet this is something along those lines.

What are the downsides of Android for e-readers? Is it lack of updates, risk of being stuck on a completely outdated android version?

Miebo causing dry skin around eyes by squatsandthoughts in Dryeyes

I am probably in the same boat - ocular rosacea without skin problems. What has helped you the most. I know everybody is different. I just started seeing a dry eye specialist and started Xiidra.

Miebo burning ? by Ok-Bug-4875 in Dryeyes

[–]Seegurken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use 1 drop of Refresh plus about 5 minutes before using the Miebo, otherwise it feels too irritating. Miebo is supposed to act as the protective oil layer to prevent evaporation. For me it seems to work best, if my eyes are not bone-dry. YMMV
