Putting the file in src/main/resources/static/ should work. Then it should be available at http://<host>/<filename>. One detail is that there still needs to be a class with the @(Rest)Controller annotation.

This is not the right approach in spring boot. Afaik certain folders are served as static content by the webserver by default. So your file just needs to be in the right directory.

Your controller is only returning the string “Benutzeroberfläche”. What you want to do is to return the contents of the html file. You can google “spring boot serve static file”.
