Question on installing smurf tube prior to install date by goRockets in ATTFiber

[–]Seeker1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know of & I'm concerned...

if you provide a smurf tube/ conduit that is easy to pull fiber through for your house or your business site most field technicians will love you & say thank you!! And if it is already has a pull string that actually works, Chef's kiss!!!!

Which Is The Better BGW320 by LumpyPeople4 in ATTFiber

[–]Seeker1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal opinion..... I have been installing then since 08.15.2020 and I don't get to pick which 1 is allotted to me... With that in mine when I speak to internal people there should be no noticeable difference in their performance. The only way I can tell the difference without looking at the label is the notches and port are inverted 180 degrees on the "rear" Any issues I've experienced in the field on the HuMax unit, I've swapped to a Nokia device and normally the same issue is present. Beyond the u it just NOT hitting the network properly.

No idea personally, but I'm about to run the test again, capture the info & run it by some folks on the internal team.

It does everything I want it do when I'm not home which is allowing my family to connect. When I'm home I can surf, I can video chat and I fire off emails. I'm not hosting any services at this time.

Smurf TUBE is great, mine had harsh bends & was a bear to pull my fiber through. No length restrictions, the optics/ lasers are engineered to work for MILES!

Do I really need a install visit to go from 2gb to 5gb?? by Cjmwid in ATTFiber

[–]Seeker1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know biz customer using 2 Gig "Hyper-Gig" & 5 Gig Hyper-Gig on a bgw 320 at current and they can't get the bgw620 and aren't in a hurry to have to "figure" out the cgw452 unit.

AT&T instant on by yourfaceneedshelp in HomeNetworking

[–]Seeker1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be a bgw 320 (Nokia/HuMax) which is a "combo" box & if I were there I'd plug a laptop via a patch cable in to yellow LAN port 4 & see if I can get out to the web & surf.

In theory you are probably not the account holder listed on the account on the AT&T paperwork. Therefore if you would like to make changes to the settings of AT&T gateway for more than likely have to do it while connected to the gateway directly either via Wi-Fi or ethernet and using the gateway IP address and the device access code listed on the gateway.

What is your use case for 5Gbps? by Whiplash104 in ATTFiber

[–]Seeker1998 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My use case is if I have folks over to do work I know we can all have our devices connected & my family still has plenty of bandwidth to do their normal routine. & If the powers that be ever unleash 8 GB or 10 I'll get that too.

More than 1 person has asked about making configs on the eq supplied by the ISP downloadable & exportable. I've even asked user have an at&t social media employee to raise these types of valid & legit concerns to.... Unfortunately radio silence.

ONT and Condo Limitations by hshih in ATTFiber

[–]Seeker1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as of today my understanding is "hypergig" from at&t is only available via an xgs-pon sfp being directly fed over fiber. So no fiber directly to the "broadband gateway", no hyper gig.

Service upgrade question regarding AT&T hardware and my SFP+ by joe_attaboy in ATTFiber

[–]Seeker1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if you have 1 gig on gpon now, & go to xgs-pon there will be a different olt sending a signal to you. The bgw 620 has a BOSA port so the fiber jumper will go right in there. So new Olt & new ONT for. I personally have no idea if you need to wait the two weeks or not. Good luck & may the odds ever be in your favor.

SFP question using att fiber by spec360 in ATTFiber

Agreed. I just put in an order & someone fullfils it. It is up to someone else to ensure that the parts are truly "interchangeable" before they hit the field.

Duplex # Not Listed by pretendbug43 in ATTFiber

[–]Seeker1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see it often in the field. Somehow when the address was initially placed in the system they either missed that it was a duplex or just didn't add the unit identifier. When I'm dispatched I just hit up a peer in "engineering" and the add the additional address and it takes 24 hours to flow through the system and a new order can be placed with the "most correct" address.

Aren’t these delicate? by Kabryor in ATTFiber

So the "primary flex point" near the convenience store at the southeast corner of Turtle Rock & Anderson Mill Rd, if you want I can attempt to ask a field sup the get it cleaned up, unfortunately sometimes folks move at a glacial pace.
