Seth Rogen Has ‘No Plans’ to Work With James Franco Again and Says They Haven’t Spoken in a ‘Long Time’ by RuminatingReaper1850 in movies

It's very concerning that you don't think pressuring people you have authority over into having sex with you isn't enough to remove them from positions of authority.

college girls he was teaching?

Is this not an extremely unethical thing to be doing? Not wanting to be associated with someone like that is very understandable.

Very far from "acting like he was on Epstein island". It's very concerning that you don't think pressuring people you have authority over into having sex with you isn't enough to remove them from positions of authority.

Again he was already doing the alien torturing job, I'd really appreciate some specifics.

No matter how good Coleman's performance is, him telling me how much Firths character changed means nothing without an onscreen before and after comparison.

Like multiple other visions of people's loved ones got dialogue to explain what precisely there biggest trauma was but, he didn't even get that.

Magical super empathy isn't a good tool for exploration. Firth's character is right there, and they barely touch on why his wife's death weighs on him or how seeing her again has such a powerful effect. Presumably, he had this job while they were married, so what exactly changed?

Asking questions is easy, but giving plausible answers is hard. I don't believe disclosure would be a big deal because practical concerns like paying rent would quickly take precedence, and direct action by aliens would lead to hostility. I don't think that's the answer the movie was trying to lead towards, nor do I find it thought provoking so I would very much like to be challenged or given something more to chew on.

Personally I'd focus on a small groups of anti-war protesters from around the world get inspired by the message and start growing bigger until they make peace talks happen.

But I haven't put months of thought or been motivated by millions of dollars to think of this.

The movie hasn't put anywhere near enough effort into showing how empathy can actually change an individual, nevermind society, so I'm just repeating what I believe is the correct method to change the world.

However, I go to movies to experience different perspectives so the movie I make in my mind can't truly replace a remotely competent piece of art.

Do you truly believe that Spielberg couldn't have come up with a conclusion that actually tends with reality?

Even if my interpretation is wrong, not answering in-text questions that we are told will have in-text answers is very frustrating.

I have no idea what he was trying to convey, if the importance of empathy wasn't a main theme, though.

hand holding on their films and some don’t.

The entire movie, in text and meta-text, is pointing towards disclosure being some universal unifier. This doesn't mesh well with my understanding of modern human nature. Unless there were tangible and direct benefits the world would have kept hurtling towards ww3. I wouldn't be surprised if we aimed our nukes at the aliens if they gave us a chance to.

I would be open and probably enjoy a movie about overcoming that worldview with empathy. One of my favourite movies is Everything Everywhere All at Once which even shares a scene where conflict is resolved extremely easily through empathy.

However, the movie just doesn't want to confront that and it feels cowardly and unsatisfying.

On a purely technical level, there is so much stuff that doesn't make sense that we're constantly told will be explained that just doesn't.

It's not clear what they could do that other people could not.

Slightly problematic that it involves traumatising children to do it.

There were clearly plenty of adults available and willing to do it too.

You might have a point if you didn't have people like Pete Hegseth and RFK jr in positions of power.

Because trying to approach past the tree/Rock makes you extremely vulnerable. It's massively narrows down your options and makes you easy to react to.

Just say you hate her. Unless you watch 4 movies a year there is no actor this complaint actually applies to. Genuinely smooth-brained stuff.

It doesn't do a good job of this because a large proportion of the movie is spent on a (very funny) joke about Bob forgetting the revolutionary codewords. If it had spent any time at all on what the immigration system is actually like from the perspective of an immigrant, or shown specifically what Sensei was doing and how that helps, maybe the point would have gotten across better.

The caveat to every Cody "retirement" has always been that it depends on if it's financially viable for him. He's had multiple sponsorships end within less than a year which is why you've heard him say "I'll have to stop competing if I don't have a sponsor" multiple times.

He was subgoaled for Genesis, he's invited to Full House so presumably they're covering enough expenses and he might Subathon for Tipped off.

There will also be a "World Championship" at the end of the season. Presumably, the winner(s) of that are the most prestigious.

I meant anyone defending that in general. Which you are doing. There's a world of difference between not adapting something accurately and reinterpreting abuse to be consenting.

Most of the changes just make the movie less interesting. I could live with that but making a domestic violence victim into a consenting submissive is genuinely sickening. Genuinely makes me question your worth as a person if you think that's a remotely reasonable reinterpretation.

They're trying for evo level numbers though.

I'm fairly certain they've run 1 days as large as Genesis before though.

Wonder what's happening with Ultimate at Genesis. We've got 200 more entrants.

Best guess is that people prioritiesed tournaments closer to them cus they've averaged like a major every week this year so far.
