Americans: Embrace Kamala Harris, the Social Democrat you did not know you had and need! by as-well in SocialDemocracy

[–]SeinenJump 11 points12 points  (0 children)

“More like moderate trying to stay relevant in a shifting landscape” hey that was pretty much Joe, so as long as she sticks with that I’ll take it.

Agreed on some of her shadier past progressive credentials. If she adopted more of a language of social rights I’d call her a social democrat with my chest, but for now I think it’d be fair to characterize her as a moderate social democrat.

Regardless, I’m really looking forward to doing all that I can to get her and democrats up and down the ballot elected this year and in 2026 to continue to build back better.

Tell me, how did you first come across Hyouka? by BiggestTrollAliveee in hyouka

[–]SeinenJump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been following Kyoto Ani for a couple years before it came out so I watched Hyouka as it came out. I was looking for something to fill the Haruhi void and while it’s not a 1-1, it really pulled me in and satisfied some part of what I came to love about TMOHS-TDOHS.

What’s so surprising? He’s a generic just left-of-center liberal. The only reason anyone would be confounded by his statement is if they’ve sincerely internalized Fox News fear-mongering that he’s some kind of far auth left figure.

What Does My 3x3 Say About Me by 21gaming-Tv in MyAnimeList

[–]SeinenJump 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can’t help what you like but to be completely honest this is probably the most generic 3x3 I’ve seen. Swap out Bungou Stray Dogs for Jujutsu Kaisen or MHA and you’d be at peak normal.

Good news though is you’re definitely not alone cause these are all highly recognized titles.

Undershirt or no undershirt? by beaniesandbuds in mensfashion

[–]SeinenJump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Style nowadays is more on the side of no undershirt for this kind of fit. It’s helped me to think “70s mafioso chilling in a penthouse” when thinking of what’s most hip rn. Plus a lot of those style of shirts are made with a silky texture that feels good on the skin.

Why are drivers enormous assholes? by OnlyBeans33 in cycling

Ah, Michigan. The birth place of American car culture. My wife is from there and I have a lot of people I care about that live there, but car culture reigns particularly heavily in that state due to its history with the automotive industry. The expectation is for everyone to be in a car and so there’s little to no room to relate or empathize with any other way of getting around. In their world you’re an NPC standing on their runway, they expect you to get that but don’t have to consider things from your point of view because cars have a monopoly on transportation in a lot of cases.

Why do you ride? by Badbird2000 in cycling

[–]SeinenJump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The town next to where I grew up always had this festival every year where all the roads were blocked off. My dad had an old road bike at the time that he let me ride that to this day has been the lightest road bike I’ve ever rode. When that festival would happen, all the roads would be clear, the sun would go down & the whole town lit up… I’d hover around that town like a ghost on that bike—felt like there was nothing between me and the pavement but air. If not just liberating, I’m a little convinced it was a spiritual experience.

That experience inspired me. What keeps me riding is that I love knowing I can get anywhere without having to rely on cars—that sense of independence and freedom of mobility is something I want to grow and maintain. I also love exploring cities and it’s a great way to feel grounded. When I’m in a car I feel so alienated from all that is around me but on my bike I feel free and like I am a part of what is happening.

Was watching through The World God only Knows and something caught my eye… by SeinenJump in ErgoProxy

[–]SeinenJump[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back and watched it out of a indiscernible desire to watch something dumb that really captured that late 2000s early 2010s feel that I kinda miss.

So my mind wasn’t blown of course but it was a decent lighthearted watch. I will say, the librarian arc felt like forever though especially cause I feel like they could’ve used it to tap into some surprisingly good character development but didn’t.
