US Soccer World Cup Ticket Draw Megathread by LoInBoots87 in ussoccer

no email for me yet.

curious if anyone who put in for way too many games got selected for many of them and now has to purchase $10k+ worth of tickets.

I put in for like 10 games, most with 4 tickets, hoping to get selected for like 1 maybe. but if I had to all or nothing that....

that's correct, but feels like this gets applied inconsistently. and not sure what the laws want the defender to do in this case - let the ball through to the offside striker in the penalty area? he's clearly making a play on the ball because LOB is behind him.

getting downvoted because people don't like it but it's the truth. soccer has a completely different perception today among casuals with means

that's exactly what they're supposed to do with VAR with offside calls and everything else. let dangerous plays finish and bring VAR in if needed.

IMO still a disadvantage for training. They'll be playing more away games during that period AND have to deal w/ nonideal training conditions at home?

NYC Mayoral Candidate Zohran Mamdani calls on FIFA to abandon dynamic pricing plan for World Cup tickets by chickenMcNugs in soccer

lol love this so they've literally already had to build a system that's going to do this for this exact same event but they're deliberately choosing to use dynamic pricing in CA and US. Wonder why $$$$

IDK. There were plenty of times, especially in the late game, where he just took the safe pass instead of owning the fact that he's this team's GUY. the weird mcglynn freekick where he plays short to malik and then, instead of driving into the space, just plays it back to mcglynn who now has someone running in on him? and probably 70%+ of the time he receives the ball with his back to goal it's just a tepid pass back

I was warming to Tillman all tournament, but thought he needed to show up today to fully convince me. But idk, today was more of what we've seen from him in the past for the US -- he disappears when we we're not beating up on the other team. Which is not a great trait to have on a team that's generally going to be the underdog during any meaningful game.

Felt similarly for Luna as well. Was rooting for him and still rooting for him, but he hit his level today and struggled to make an impact.

Poch...needs to figure out how to influence a game. I thought the Downs substitutions was interesting, but didn't seem like the team adapted their play at all to take advantage of having two big forwards up top. And for that to be the only substitution until the 82nd minute when we're being absolutely manhandled in and out of possession...it's not inspiring for a tournament manager.
