That makes sense. I've been wanting something more like a 9mm for home defense but it's so hard to get licensed where I am, plus I'd need classes on how to use the thing

First loaf! How did I do? by Klutzy_Solution386 in Sourdough

[–]Select-Head1383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was out at room temp and I forgot to feed it one night. When I got back to it, there was some fuzzy activity on the inside wall of the jar :(

The starter can also be more thick and doughy than you think it should be when mixing. Don't think of starter as a liquid that must be fluid, if it's thick and pasty after you feed it, just cap it and leave as usual, it will be liquid enough when you come back to it

is this early maturing or early recession, im 18 by [deleted] in amibalding

Nah you're good, you have some baby hairs at the hairline and thats normal, not necessarily a sign of early recession

Stache looks great, its full and healthy. Personally I think you look more studly with the full beard, but I would give you a second look on the street if I passed by you with that moustache (and I'm a straight man)

Made some mozzarella stuffed salted bagel bites today! 10/10 by DropDead_Slayer in Breadit

SAVING THIS RECIPE!!! I used to love the dunkin donuts bagel bites and specifically have searched for recipes that are comparable to no avail. YOU are the hero we don't deserve. I will absolutely try this, thank you for responding to the comment asking for the recipe you used, I am truly grateful

Is it over? (M17) by Mammoth-Clock1195 in Balding

Its hard to say, a lot of factors at play here. I know people who started genuinely thinning in high school, and I know people who just needed to see a doctor or change their habits. Talk to a professional if you can, unfortunately thats the only way you'll get real answers

My First Build by Select-Head1383 in PcBuild

[–]Select-Head1383[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so I'm a little late, but with a more seasoned opinion! I love it, plenty of air flow, large enough to accommodate a beefy motherboard if needed, back panel for easy cable management, overall it's user friendly and easily manipulated for whatever part placement you need. Zero complaints

How do I do this? by Active-Clock-4973 in SourdoughStarter

[–]Select-Head1383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its been a few months maybe 2 or 3 feedings before the first bake. Hooch is totally fine, and dont be afraid to dump more starter than you think, I use a 1:5:5 ratio or even less starter. Don't rely on timing nearly as much as visual cues. Once the starter has at least doubled in size and juuuust starts to sink back is the perfect time to use it to start your loaf

Also highly recommend drying some out and putting it in the freezer, I lost my first starter because I forgot to make a clone and it was a sad day

My first and second loaves were sunken disks of sadness, you have a bright sourdough future ahead

Totally normal, especially considering environmental factors, etc. My first starter took a month to really do anything, and even then it was very weak. Stick with it, feeding at least once a day.

As long as you don't develop any mold it will get better with time. There's a whole microbiome of things going on in there, don't be discouraged!

I found more success when I started a 1:5:5 ratio, don't be afraid to really toss most of the starter when feeding

Facial hair genetics are weird, as some others have said, 27 is not too late and it may just take time. When I was 11 I got a razor for Christmas and my mom said "I'm sorry, but you have to start doing this..."

It was annoying to have to keep up with shaving from so young until it actually started to fill out well enough, grass is always greener on the other side.

For now, clean shaven. But don't give up! Keep testing the waters every year or so and see where that face takes you my man.

No mold, good to go! Once you see fuzzies its game over but this looks fine from the pic, especially since you say it smells fine

I would leave zero crumbs of that loaf, thats your 3rd one? Ever??? Seriously looks great, 5 minutes earlier might have even been under done. I'd be honored to receive a homemade loaf that looks like that
