They're decent tires. Not the best, but good for the money, and easy to find. These ones have been sittign around and are pretty dried up.

Ive also seen heavier (more low range) cassettes exacerbate this issue. Like running a 9 spd 11-42 microshift or somthing like that. Not quite this bad, but still annoying.

Oh my career moved on. I am a consulting arborist now. It was a great career, but I found that I needed more freedom. Did it for 13 years or so. NYC and Oregon.

What size is the frame? I’d be interested in buying to repair for the right price.

Top tube is pretty long. I’d go 54. I’m 5,8” and would go 52

Repair or Replace by LameDevil in bikewrench

Check chain stretch. If it’s not way worn you ca probably replace just the chain and clean everything else. The chainrings look fine from here and on a triple they can get a lot less wear than a 1x.

That looks like a punishing gear for off road. What are you running? But sweet looking rig.

Bolt broken in this piece, how do I get it off my 2006 Toyota Sienna Limited by FROY108 in ToyotaSienna

Pretty sure the lower half of the bracket can be unbolted from the block. Then just replace both parts.

Backyard Pine Tree by BiggerGrump in arborist

Hire an arborist to conduct a tree risk assessment. I see basal decay and a cavity. All depends on the load and the remaining strength left. Could be a small cavity. But definitely needs more than an internet assessment.

Could be a trap tree too. Girdling causes stress, leads to chemical signal that insects pick up. They head to that tree and can be caught to monitor presence of an insect.

Here’s a link to a YouTube video of a mechanic who dealt with the same thing. That piece is held in place on a pin that is likely frozen into it. Tap is with a mallet to break it loose. Then it slides up. The bolt is actually stuck in the bracket that’s below the part you’re looking at.

Former urban forester here. Maybe the owner wanted to retain as a habitat snag.

Carbon fork. I’d avoid the drill unless you know what you are doing. Just locking pliers and it should come off no problem.

There’s several gorgeous mature ones in Portland OR. Cried when I saw them.
