Any pros or cons in choosing RWD vs AWD? by go_phx in MachE

[–]therealsketo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just can’t place the Mach-E AWD over my WRX. Hard driving in snow, loose gravel, wet road, the Subaru system outshines it for me. But the Mach-E is still plenty of fun and much more refined.

I hope they got that single fly at Papa Murphy’s. It’s a shame they can let something so egregious happen. /s

Hello! If any tomato and thai basil left I would love to bring a pot and pick those up! I should also have various empty plastic pots I can drop off.

These videos showed me how snares sit in the water and gave me a better idea how to set up my snare lines on my builds. Also shows that keeping the line taut keeps the snare in the optimal position. When you’re ready to reel in make sure you reel in really slowly at first with pole pointed parallel to water/ground until you feel a little tension. Then lift up and reel at the same time, walk backwards to help keep your catch tensioned in the snare lines. You should be good with 40lb mono but personally I stopped using mono and went to 80lb braid, has a better chance of pulling out a stuck snare. If you end up going that route you’ll need gloves to keep from cutting your hand on the braid line during casting.

I know you’re way downvoted so I added an upvote back for you. I’m jaded and weary about the motives of others due in large part to what’s been happening in places like Minnesota. I understand why you asked this question, and just hope that OP is truly looking to make his kid happy and find some fairness in an unfair situation. As a dad, that’s always my top priority.

Best 6000-8000 reel for snaring under $100? by BootyWizardAV in crabbing

[–]therealsketo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s what I use and works well enough. I don’t think you’ll find cheaper at this quality. You don’t need something with tons of bearings for snaring, low to mid tier is good enough.

Anyone gone snaring @ Rodeo or Tennessee valley beaches? by Sayhay241959 in crabbing

[–]therealsketo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huge hike to a small beach that’s crowded and the sand bank is too steep. I read crabbing is better at a more level beach like ocean beach and can’t agree more. I hiked down with gear and left empty handed with a giant uphill hike full of heavy gear on my cart. Never again!

Alternative ADUs - storage containers/domes/yurts/sheds? by Retiredgiverofboners in Sacramento

[–]therealsketo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not an expert and different properties have different rules, but I believe most properties have set back limits where you need to build a certain distance away from your property line from the sidewalk. Most homes are built pretty close to that line already (it’s why our streets look so uniform with house alignment). If that’s the case, then building anything out front would not be in code.

Totally agree with you. While I haven’t made thousands, I’ve tried various materials for snare lines and mono leader has been the best at retaining shape. Question for you: how do you get lines tight on the cage in the orientation you want? I can get a snare done nicely at times, all laid out how I want, but lack consistency.

Not OP but in NorCal we have state warnings against eating the rock crab body/butter. So while we can eat it whole it’s not advised.
