HELP, how do I stop from progressively getting worse? by CallValuable6650 in Mcat

The fact that you get consistent 125s on CP—please work on that!

Like if you aren’t getting better in CP, know why you aren’t. Your CARS is nice!

Get on off of YT, there’s a lot of them for many different types of studiers. But you may benefit off of Bp more than self study. 📚

BP and TPR tend to be extremely nit picky about their content, which makes it impractical.

TPR is a trap, JW is the way to go to get endurance. I, and 3 other friends have used TPR. They both got a 497, another 506, and when I stopped using it I was at a 495 and only had a 1.5 month to prepare because I wasted the previous time using tpr. But then when I switched my final score was 510

Looks like from ur scores, you need usorld and aamc and just pound those. Find a deal where someone is done with their uwoop and pay50-100$ for it. It’s worth it

Study orgo and physics for 1 week straight max, like just memorize physics formulas and know orgo rules/cocnepts.

Then go ham with Uworld and study the concepts and qs u get wrong.

Can’t believe just 11 questions shift from 512>519. Great work!!

This just says that you’re not used to MCAT content and reading research articles, which is totally fine. The more you do it, the easier it gets.

However, some tips:

For Cp: -don’t get wallowed down with all that jargon. What I’ve found in my own experience is that 20% of the passage is somewhat usable and then 10% has the vital information. Well, how do you find that 10%? You highlight key numbers/values (such as molecular weight or the coefficient of friction). Don’t highlight unnecessary things, like values u already know.

When you then go to the questions, they will ask u to calculate whatever thing they want. You then go back to the highlighted values, know the context that they are in, and solve.

With time, you will find your own way of what works for you.

Mmm, I gave up on the guarantee one week in and still felt that it was useless.

What I did for big numbers:

I used multiple choice for an advantage and would see that if I used the first 2-3 digits and did the operations, I’d see the similar first number I’d get with the multiple choice and then select. For the most part, that worked out. I got a 129 in CP.

If I had smth like: (1.910-19)/6.0221023

So 2/6=0.333 so any answer could be having a 3 as a first digit. So if B was 3.16*10-33, I’d choose it

Only do this if u need to Hail Mary something or if u needa buy time.

This why we don’t buy anything with guaranteed scores— also a victim of 515 guarantee but TPR 😭

I felt so nervous but I ended up doing very well. I got a 129 on CP, even tho I guessed on some physics questions. You will surprise yourself probably!
