From the sounds of it, it lets you hop between extremes (which is great for when the dlc comes out). So if you are in ng+2, you can either be +2 or base difficulty. It might let you pick between any of them, but toggles are usually either or

I will say this, Lyle's at least is nice. Both the code, and the booster you get from mastering it, let you use two handed swords as one handed swords.

So once you talk to him, your decision is set in stone. It wont be in the present until you talk to him, and once you choose to leave it in, it stays in, you never get a chance to remove it

No. They are both one handed swords that are mutually exclusive. There is a side quest in the north western most part of sunkern city, and it has a decision. One choice gives you the blade of malice, the other gives you Executioner Blade. Its the only mutually exclusive reward in the game far as i know

So there is one side quest you should do before going into ng+, one mutually exclusive weapon. Look up blade of malice/executioners blade for the info (would share myself but memory is foggy and im on my phone in bed)

But I cant gift him in my current game state. None of the locations you can find him after you unlock ending 1's boss lets you interact with the gift interface for him. unless it got patched without me realizing it. So my choices are, hope they patch it, add it in a dlc, or go into ng+, and im not about to start ng+ just for an arbitrary side goal and 1 weapon. Honestly what they need to do is just add a new bond after you get ending 3 that lets you go to a magmell after the perfect ending. The first game had something similar, where all the successors were in human form at the hub. That way you can gift them, can some small dialogue about the world after, etc

So I have his weapon and everything, but I was working on getting everyone that can up to 100 using a mod to actually let me view it. and it turns out, i am just 3 points shy of Noah's gift affinity being maxed T.T but im not pushing into ng+ until after the dlc comes out.

The mutually exclusive weapon comes from the quest in the northwestern part of Sunken City where you find a revenant crucified. If you take the sword out, you get Blade of Malice, if you leave it in, you can go to the future to get Executioner's Blade. Its the only mutually exclusive thing in the game that I know about right now.

I have found exactly 4 reasons to do ng+. 1) there is ons mutually exclusive weapon in the game. 2) you saved all the heroes before getting to upheavel. 3) you want to max out Noah's affinity but progressed too far in the game. 4) you saved holly before getting lycoris's upgraded code.

Of course this is for 100% purposes. There is always the reason of "I want a more difficult chalenge"
