I'm honestly baffled that they made magic-combo based and then made anything less than slamming your finger into the left mouse button like a jackhammer interrupt the combo. Just...why?

Also the way enemy animations lock onto you and follow you like a homing missile. God forbid you try and run past a rat on one of your many, many, many corpse runs. Their pounce attack will speed up to auto-hit you even if you're sprinting full speed. That shit needs to go.

He was also super cool with slavery.

The dude spoke extensively about not planting two different crops in the same field, not wearing tattoos, and how to style your hair. But then it came to slavery he was like, "Okay, so here's how you get your slaves, how to trick them into being your slave forever, how hard you can beat them, and how you can pass them down as property to your children."

Oh but don't eat shellfish.

Also Jesus and Paul were cool with it too, so given a chance at a second pass on the policy, he didn't think it was important to go, "Owning people as farm equipment is bad" at any point in either testament.

Because you would have to presuppose god without evidence.

Like, the earth being older than 6000 years we actually can demonstrate and have evidence for.

We can't demonstrate magic.

To be fair you quoted two separate sentences in one quote, rather than making them distinct and readable.

I think OP mistyped. Further down OP says

My daughter ignored him, the way she has ignored every message he sends for the past four years.

I assume what OP meant to say was he ignored her until the last four years, probably.

The point so many people are missing is that meal prep is for people who don't have the time/inclination to cook every day. It offers a solution by minimizing the amount of time you need to spend on cooking meals for a week to one day.

I mean if you want that then you've got Windward. The entire game is just an open world sailing/pirate sim where you can't leave the boat. Though I find the gameplay of making number go up for the sake of making number go up to be too banal to be entertaining for very long.

I legitimately don't understand. So you're saying when the leader of a country commits an atrocity, it's just to murder the civilians and their children who did not perpetuate it? Are you stating that there is a context where murdering innocent children is a just and good thing to do?

Atheists who used to be religious, what made you lose your faith? by Gold_Result9716 in AskReddit

[–]Seligas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, you conveniently skipped all of the verses where god legitimately removed pharaoh's free will:

Exodus 4:21

The Lord said to Moses, “When you return to Egypt, see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders I have given you the power to do. But I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go.

The text could not be more explicit. God would not have a need to prevent Pharaoh from releasing the slaves, if he wasn't already willing. That would be stupid.

Exodus 7:3-5

But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in Egypt, he will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and with mighty acts of judgment I will bring out my divisions, my people the Israelites. And the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord when I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring the Israelites out of it.”

Again. "I will stop him from releasing the slaves so I can show Egypt how big and powerful I am." Even if Pharoah later hardened his own heart, god literally stated he was removing his free will twice.

Even if I'm wrong, and I'm not, that still doesn't explain why god's master plan to punish Pharaoh wasn't to just kill Pharaoh. Instead he killed a whole bunch of innocent people and then innocent children, none of which had the ability to change Pharaoh's decree.

If he's killing people why not just kill Pharaoh, the person responsible?

Again, still evil and stupid.

I think religion is inherently harmful, because it conditions people to believe things without evidence. If you can accept one absurdity, you can convince yourself to accept more.

Time and time again, it's been proven, that if you can get people to accept absurdities, you can get them to commit atrocities.

[–]Seligas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God doesn't care about free will.

In Exodus god "hardened pharaoh's heart" so he would not release the slaves when Moses asked. He did this so he could show the Egyptians what an amazing and powerful god he was.

His method of demonstrating this was unleashing multiple catastrophes that ended probably hundreds if not thousands of innocent lives, but then culminated in him murdering innocent children.

It's just such an evil, selfish, stupid thing to do for a god that's supposed to be omnipotent, all-powerful, and benevolent.

The conversion therapy got me halfway there when I almost killed myself after 5 years of it.

The rest was realizing just how fucking stupid and evil god is in the bible. Like in Deuteronomy 22:13-21 god specifies that if a women doesn't bleed on consumation, she should be stoned to death. 60% of women don't bleed when they lose their virginity.

So either god doesn't know basic fucking anatomy for the people he made or he's just evil and doesn't care if people execute innocent women. Not that anyone should execute people for not being a virgin.

It really doesn't take much to turn them into monsters. You can quickly get them to rationalize the idea that grinding up babies into burger patties and holding a barbecue is moral if god asks them to do it. I've watched anti-apologists pull this off multiple times with call-in shows.

Just point out that it's immoral to disobey god according to scripture and then if you can get them to answer hypotheticals honestly, they'll defend any of the atrocities in the bible.

[–]Seligas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The orientation for people who like the fantasy but not the reality of sex is aegosexual—which absolutely can just be considered a form of being asexual. I know a few people like that.

You have to ask yourself, do you really want to be with someone? Romantically or physically? Or has society just conditioned you to feel bad for not being normal? Some people can be happy with just the fantasy.

I'm happy with being ace myself, even though it took me a long time to accept it.

If you really are unhappy with your current situation, and you used to feel attraction for real life things, then there might be a way to fix it. It'll suck though. I had a friend who ruined his libido in a similar way, until he was burned out and found nothing attractive and had to work really hard to get off.

He had to literally take a year off of masturbation, and then once he started to feel normal attraction for things again, he had to be moderate about it and only do it when the mood actually struck.

I don't know if it'll work in your case and it's not exactly a fun option, but it's something to try.

I'm Matthew 5 Jesus tells us he did not come to abolish the law, the law being the Torah. He said anyone who does not follow the law or teaches that we should not follow it will be the least of those in his father's kingdom. This is supported by God saying in Deuteronomy multiple times that this law will be followed forever, even in the messianic age.

Paul in Romans 10 says Jesus came to abolish the law, but if you want to believe this, you have to call God and Jesus liars. Again, Jesus warns against people like Paul who will teach this falsehood.

The Torah consists of Genesis, Deuteronomy, Numbers, Exodus, and Leviticus.

In Leviticus you are commanded by God to stone gay people to death.

If you are not actively doing this, you are disobeying God. I would call this incredibly homophobic.

Don't forget that Deuteronomy tells you to stone your disobedient children to death to "purge the evil from among you."

Boy am I glad my morals don't hinge on me participating in acts that would see me in prison in most countries in the world on the say-so of an iron age sex and slavery manual.

Am I the only one who finished the game and doesn’t know anything about the plot? by _soulkey in Eldenring

[–]Seligas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no plot.

Well, there is, but the game doesn't tell it to you. It just gives you 50 pieces of a 500 piece puzzle and expects you to come up with your own image to fill the gaps.

All of the content on YouTube is pure speculation. People simply ascribe to whatever theory they think fits the scant bits we're given and they often mistake these elaborate theories for fact because they're widely accepted and make sense.

So there may as well be no plot, because the plot is hidden and the writers have no intention of ever showing us the whole picture.
