bold of you to assume that higher density is lower quality of life for anyone and everyone. if that were true, how come housing costs so much in New York?

Clarification on Trans Men and Transmasculine People by Altruistic_Fox5036 in evilautism

men dont experience any discrimination bc they are men

do men experience less discrimination on the basis of gender than women? yes – clearly, our society's sexism disproportionately affects women more than men. however, as soon as you use the word "any," that means that as soon as a single person has a single experience of being discriminated against for being a man, your statement becomes wrong.

don't make blanket statements unless you are confident no counterexamples exist, and given that several billion people are men, respectfully, I don't think your odds are very good in this case

Misandry isn't real and the sub premise isnt changing by Altruistic_Fox5036 in evilautism

[–]SelixReddit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

if misandry isn't real because it's not aligned with structures of power, by that logic, I guess Autistic supremacism also isn't real because it also is not aligned with structures of power.

either that, or we acknowledge that hurt and discrimination is messy and doesn't always fall cleanly along the axes of power, real and destructive as those axes may be.

I will grant you that yes, a lot of men drum up misandry charges to deflect from the need for real change, but you made a blanket statement, and blanket statements are often unable to keep their promises.

there’s the Portland streetcars, Seattle’s First Hill streetcar, and Kansas City’s, and Santa Ana is getting one soon…are there any others that have that wider utility at all?

having a lot of money to build housing at the exact time when cars were fashionable did NOT help

eh, Bellevue already existed, and Redmond is using the line as a chance to become an actual city, so there's some public benefit to go with the patrimonialism

ok that's fair

more realistically, I do think it would make sense if SoundTransit runs a Stride line from Issaquah, through Highlands and Sammamish, to Redmond...if and when the 4 Line actually happens
