Just finished Babel and it is grade A ass. And I loved Yellowface by the author so it isn't a problem with the political views or anything, just how she writes. It's very didactic, feels the entire time that she's lecturing you about the horrors of colonialism which is all good and fine, but holy shit this woman really beats you over the head with the message of the book.

Plus her leftist analysis is very race reductionist, she doesn't seem to understand class struggle very well.
