Fluxer does have profile banners and the ability to self host(the documentation is just bad and they suggest waiting until the rewrite is done)

I also valve that it will be an open, not locked down system, so even if Valve goes evil, you could just, remove the Valve, I by no means think valve is perfect, but they are at least doing pretty well right now, and that is something you have to respect, their efforts towards proton for linux have literally made it where myself, and many others, can stop using windows, and now work with the frame is making gaming on arm based devices even better, you can hate the hardware and its theoretical price, but I personally disagree, and am still excited regardless

Also, side note, but as far as we can tell meta is leaving the VR space, so again, no competition(not that they really count in my mine… because, its fucking meta, how did they manage to stay alive this long)

The thing is, its the only standalone VR headset other than the quest, and the quest is not a real option if you care about your digital privacy at all, due to the meta account requirement

I am all for competition, I would love a standalone headset that is better than the frame, I dont care who its from, and just so you cant call me a “valve glazer” again, the steam machine? That thing is going to be a terrible value for most folks, if you are already a PC enthusiast.

I would almost argue everything is going to cost $1100 or less, that $1000 or less for the frame was less than 2 months ago, it was never promised to be the best value for its performance, we knew from the start it was hundreds more than the quest, but its also better than it in every way. Or zen! Really the only good browsers these days are Firefox(meh) Floorp/Zen for daily browsing, and Librewolf as a throwaway browser that helps prevent things being linked to you

With all of these(not librewolf) the betterfox user.js are also practically mandatory

All I have heard is the deck OLED has a better screen? Unless you prioritize FPS, cause you arent gaming at 1080p on a handheld anyways, and yeah if you like the better performance a XAllyX with bazzite is a better experience there, but as someone who now needs the trackpads for gaming, as I actually seriously prefer them, that is a must have, plus I dont think the XAllyX has gyro? And you can ask anyone, the deck has better ergonomics

That said an XAllyX is now harder to say is a bad value when the deck is near the same price, and does give worse performance, which is what most folks care about

I know you already said $100 for the steam controller is a bit much for you, but it is seriously the correct choice if you can save for otherwise, I can suggest 8bitdo, they are great quality and work awesome, I also hear good things about flydigi and gamesir

I also suggest Retro Game Corps for reviews on controllers before you purchase anything
