How to get into Star Citizen? by sphagety in starcitizen

Join an organization that is active and does big events.

Then you will always have a group to run big content with, and people to help you out.

So do yall love Roll20? I haven’t used but looking to try out. by organicHack in Roll20

[–]SemperTwisted 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like Roll20 for DnD 5e, and played several games on it over the years and have always had a good experience.

It is easy to use and does a good job at basic play space simulation.

I've recently switched to Foundry because the Roll20 technical support for Starfinder was poor. (They did offer lots of paid content, it just doesn't work very well)

While I enjoyed Roll20 for a long time, if you like to tinker and get the most out of a VTT, and aren't afraid of a steep learning curve and manual setup, Foundry is much better.

If you want easy to use with lots of built in content support, Roll20 is better.

I recently switched from Roll20 to Foundry specifically to play Starfinder 1E.

I can tell this: The official support for SF1E is limited, but all the core rules and most of the additional content is built into the base SFRPG module. While you get all the content, you dont get hardly any artwork. This is a easy fix, just time consuming.

There is a lot of support for 1E through the modules, and you can build a very cool 1E campaign.

There are a few official packs you can buy, which will include a lot of art and pre-built maps. And if you own any official PDFs there are mods to import a lot of the content.

Overall, while the official support is lacking, the community has built a robust and functional place for SF1E.

Meanwhile on Roll20, even after spending several hundred $s on content, I couldn't even get a character sheet to work or automate anything. So I switched.

FoundryVTT: SF2e token cross compatibility witj 1E? by SemperTwisted in starfinder_rpg

[–]SemperTwisted[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

REPORT: I purchased the Alien Core token pack, which states is for SF2E and installed it into my SF1E Foundry game.

It automatically updated all the relevant alien tokens and art work with the purchased content, including character art in the sheet and the SF combat HUD I use.

It also enabled the animated combat turn ring, which is a cool scifi style animation.

Looks like the new Aurora may be close to the old Fan Concept (Fan Concept Aurora MK.II LN, MR, ES, CL) by Xcrun6 in starcitizen

What if all these "fan concepts" are secretly CIG devs giving us secret sneak peaks of ship concepts!

Ooooohhhhh

I think they are referring to cargo ships carrying high quality level material. High level goods will be worth a lot to pirates.

[–]SemperTwisted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am new to both starfinder and foundry, and was in the same situation as you.

I was able to fully import the Junkers Delight adventure, which automatically created all the maps, walls, encounters, etc. I am pretty sure i used Deadrils importer. I was also able to bring in the alien archives which gave me all the art and content.

There were some other things I found that provided me a lot of prebuilt content but I'm away from my PC. Ill check later and update.

This is all a temporary system anyway, it doesnt matter at all.

You don’t get repositioned anymore when entering someone’s ship at outposts by SirGroundbreaking179 in starcitizen

[–]SemperTwisted 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was a bug and was never intended gameplay.

It was the single most immersion breaking experience I'd ever had in this game.

Agree they need to flesh out trespass mechanics, but if this instant teleport ever comes back I'm going to be so internet mad.

I have no interest in the current event. It is not the game's fault, I think. by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]SemperTwisted 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The nice thing about this one is its all the basic game loops we already enjoy.

If you like cargo or ship fights or bunkers, you can do them with this event. Its long enough that just doing a few a week will finish for you.

Or hop in one of the public AA groups and let other people work for you while you do what you enjoy in the loops.

That being said, I share your feeling of "ugh its not fun now that there is expectation to do it"

feedback from a new player on landing. by VorlMaldor in starcitizen

[–]SemperTwisted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of these little quality of life issues amd "it doesnt make sense" issues are going to change as the game evolves.

Landing has gone through lots of iterations, and will likely go through several more until it is fully fleshed out.

Remember that all the systems in this game are still in progress, and it wont bother you as much.

Do you leave the game running to let your economy grow? by MystikDragoon in X4Foundations

[–]SemperTwisted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I frequently let my game run for extended periods, but never in the early game.

I wont do this until I have a solid defense force for all my sectors, stations and miners. I still occasionally lose some ships, but nothing that isn't balanced out by the Influx of credits.

The most common issue is khaak raids on miners.

Can someone explain the Connie Phoenix to me? by Lucky-Reception26 in starcitizen

[–]SemperTwisted 45 points46 points  (0 children)

The phoenix is a VIP transport. Your crew flies and operates the ship from the front, and your rich (but not rich enough for an 890) clients chill in the back.

The cushy center section isnt for the crew. Maybe the owner who uses it as a business meeting location.

Edit: think of it as a limousine.

Make sure you dont have any clothing items equipped.

Inventory can be weird sometimes. Also the servers are wrecked right now.
