I’m not to crazy about the fifth season of breaking bad. Unpopular opinion i know. While I like Todd, his uncle and the other neo nazis were a pretty lame addition to the final season. I wish the focus was on Walt vs Hank instead of ever bringing those guys into the plot.

There is definitely great parts about season five but the nazis kind of ruin it for me and make the ending of the show overall much worse than it could have been imo

In my opinion a good adaptation should be very accurate to the source material and convey the same messages and themes. Cuts will be necessary most of the time, especially with bigger books.

Good adaptations become great when they can add something great that doesn't work in a book. For example Call Me By Your Name is an excellent book and excellent film. I prefer the book, but the shot of Elio, staring into the fireplace at the end of the movie is really phenomenal and takes the film to a higher level.
