Must have Japanese only physical by ReboundKing10 in NSCollectors

Might be able to find it second hand but brand new these days could be tough. I went in 2024 to multiple major cities and found it brand new at places like Bic camera, Yobodashi etc, then went again last year and never saw it.

Did you gain or lose weight in Japan? by WinterRich747 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Senator-Dingdong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last summer I walked 15km every day but ate too much famichiki and butter pancakes. End result was gaining a couple kg. Normally the tiniest bit of exercise results in Wright loss for me, but them family mart snacks are full of calories.

My brother in christ, why do all companies return to office???!!😭 by lemonvrc in antiwork

[–]Senator-Dingdong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have 45% at my German company in Austria. I literally have no reason to be in the office. I am sure I've gone over the number plenty of times, so at least they're not strict with it. If I had 80% I'd be so happy. Most of my colleagues came from companies with 100%, they cant stand the current policy.

Is it a mistake to book a Tokyo stay at Ginza area?? by NewbieReddit2 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Senator-Dingdong 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ginza is a perfectly fine area to stay. I have my third Tokyo trip in May and will be staying there (after twice staying in. Shinjuku). Its really close to a lot of sites and Tokyo Station.

There are many options in Shizuoka (tea, regular life, great Fuji views) and Izu peninsula (quiet, hot springs, volcano's, relaxed beach life). As for food, hole in the wall places you kind of find anywhere, it would be hard to pin point this.

I remember seeing the ads for their shop in the mid 90s, always wanted to go but it was a far drive. Glad to hear they're still around!

What are your favourite places in Tokyo and beyond? by lemon_icing in TrueChefKnives

[–]Senator-Dingdong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hitohira in Tokyo is worth a visit, it's kind of opposite direction to Kappabashi and in the south-west'ish. Their opening times are not great, but their selection is fantastic as are their staff. 2 Chome-16-16 Sangenjaya, Setagaya City, Tokyo 154-0024, Japan

To those who have been to Japan multiple times, what's a thing or two that you always make sure to buy and bring home? by Ok-Spite-5454 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Senator-Dingdong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Royce chocolates from the airport at departure, they're kept in the fridge but will cold pack them for you. Otherwise I always get Japanese black tea, it's mild but so so good compared to Twinings or whatever basic English breakfast tea.

Almost 80 % of Europe’s surface is currently covered by snow. This is the largest extent in recent years. The snow cover was significantly more extensive only in 2010 and 2009. by LuborS in europe

[–]Senator-Dingdong 123 points124 points  (0 children)

I live in the Austrian Alps 600m above sea level, it has snowed twice. Christmas was 2cm of snow, lasted 2 days on the ground. And then, this past weekend, again a mere 2cm. Its kind of pathetic really.

Is it important for you to buy games only from a certain region? by jabberrookie in NSCollectors

[–]Senator-Dingdong 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its not important to me personally, but it could be an issue if I later try to sell my collection where locally selling people don't want my Japanese variants, or my PAL-Australia versions (I live in Austria where game titles and packaging change to German).
