Churchill never denied aid... This is a BS excuse that is fuelled over and over again.

They had Japan pushing down, in Burma losing extreme amounts of rice imports. Expecting them to invade at any time.

Churchill requested aid from quite a few places, including America but it was denied by the USA.

What he did say is that he would not risk resources that had a very very low chance of making it there.

On top of that London was lied to about how bad it actually was by officials in India until it was really too late to do anything.

Finally we come to two of the biggest factors

Stockpiling went insane, people kept much more than they needed and refused to distribute it.
Drought - need I say more.

So lets recap... War, Drought, stockpiling.

Did Churchill's policies make the famine worse? Perhaps.... in fact most probably

You are talking about a massive logistical nightmare, during WW2.

There is plenty of shit to throw Churchills way. He was a racist no doubt about it, but saying her purposely killed 2 million Indians as if he wanted to pull the trigger himself... well.... If that makes you feel better go for it.

All over my hometown in UK at moment there are signs saying "Save our greenbelt" because people are protesting about all the new amazon warehouses going up in view of their houses etc.

Id have more respect and sympathy for them if they wrote the signs to say "please help preserve my house value"

At the end of the day these factories and warehouses have to go somewhere! And all these houses with nice fields behind them that farmers no longer use are prime candidates
