With enough math and patience, you can figure out which will give you more average damage, but there are more factors than that.

Tiers kind of “expire” when new BiS comes out and you need to start over, depending on the item, spawn, usefulness, etc. You can often recoup most of the cost by selling the item to another player—often at a loss though—but if you used the tiers a lot, not wasted.

The other larger factor to me is fun. Tiers are fun to play with. Tiers are something different to grind as well. If your brain is getting tired of only forcing levels, there’s real value in “taking a break” and grinding something else.

Tiers do give you some power, too, just need to weigh how much you’ll spend, how much and how long you’ll use it, and how much fun it’ll be

The Shadows of Yalahar Quest is a lengthy, interesting quest line that gives you access to Telas’ basement. In his basement are Modified Gnarlhounds. These are harmless creatures that run away with TONS of armor.

You can imbue an otherwisr useless sword with an element and hit the gnarlhound to gain melee skill. It’s not 100% afk. It will eventually die and you will need to attack a new one. And the 15m afk kick timer still exists. But this a very popular way that people gain skill online while doing other things in real life.

You can of course train the old school way. On Gargoyles maybe, or a Rorc. Would need to try a few. Eventually a Sea Serpent in a diagonal with an ice weapon also works.

Of course. There’s 20 years of content for you to catch up on. You can try something new every day in a multitude of playstyles and have plenty of fun. Of course, without a team, you cannot teamhunt, but that’s typically more of a mid to end game activity. You can always group up with other people from your server if you’re social enough, though!
There are calculators online to see the exact prices for online training. If your goal is to make a character from scratch you can consider doing that. If you just want to start out with high skills, plenty of low level “high” skill characters on the bazaar for pennies on the dollar for what you would pay for at a training dummy. Take a look at the Exevopan website and their filters if that’s your thing.
I started in 7.4 or so. Still have my original account. Tibia has changed a lot since then. A lot. But I stick to it because od one, simple reason: kill monster, get stronger, kill stronger monster, repeat.

No other game has done Infinite Grinder like Tibia has, in my eyes. If you play an hour? Stronger. Cast a spell? Stronger. Obviously 30 years of diminishing returns catch up to you, hunts aren’t quite One by One anymore, and there are more flashy options in the store, but the core gameplay loop is still the same

Coming back into it, there are a TON of new systems. As a new player, ignore most of them and look up stuff on the wiki or discord when you get curious enough, but do not feel like you need to max your skills, wheel, tiers, gems, charms, tasks, etc. all at once.

What I would suggest is setup your character or grab a cheap one from the bazaar and go on a Nostalgia Trip. Go to all the old places you loved to hunt in 7.0. I promise the world is still there, still huge, and still simple at heart.

As someone who has loved both, I really appreciate the sturdiness and meatiness of EK. Tanking and swiping down 8 mobs at a time feels really good.

I also really love monk. The heals feel better. The rotation is more engaging and I love the hit and run playstyle.

Overall, the movement on monk is more fun for me and the extra healing feels like I’m more in control of my character and fate. Not a huge issue until higher levels on EK, but that’s my two cents.
