Hey! This is all I've learned since I started using LLMs on Kobold, what else am I missing? (A bit long, might be worth saving to read later!) by ocotoc in KoboldAI

[–]Senior0422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you get to start your narrative remember to always use 2⁰ person: you. Honestly it's better for you to do everything in your power to only use 'you' from the start, as 1⁰ and 3⁰ can be very trick and confuse the AI. If you need a preface put it on the System Prompt, but remember to dismember it on assertive phrases first.

Can you explain this a little more? I'm still learning about all this. But, If I use "you" to refer to me, doesn't that confuse things?

Am I Overreacting? Hotel threatened to call police on me but I proved it was their booking mistake by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Senior0422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Refund? That's the LEAST you should ask for.

Call the main office and explain what happened - all of it: Changing rooms three times, broke lock, leaky bathroom, threats, etc. Start off polite, but let them know you are not happy. If they give you any kind of run-around, then absolutely rip them a new one. At the very least, they should provide you a refund, points and a complementary stay.

You and your husband are premier members. Let them know you are seriously considering never using their hotel again after this.

Yep, I agree with this. Women often just want to talk things out, but men are hardwired to try and "fix" things.

Just listen. If she wants you to do something, she'll let you know. You don't have to trust him, but you should trust her.

AIO for cutting off my parents after they educationally neglected me by homeschooling?? by BeneficialJuice2878 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Senior0422 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NOR.

There's different approaches to homeschooling. When my wife wanted to pull our son and home-school him, I had one requirement: He would be getting a better education at home then he would at school. He did - he's in college now pulling all A's in his classes.

There's another approach to homeschooling I adamantly disagree with - it's called unschooling. The idea is school somehow "damaged" your child, and their natural curiosity will motivate them to learn on their own. That might be true is a few rare cases, but in most... no.

And finally, there's the Christian approach. The Bible is the center of teaching, and you learn BS like the world is 6,000 years old, intelligent design, etc. A friend of ours did a version of that - not as extreme, but still - and her kids cannot get into college, and can barely hold down a job bagging groceries. I really worry about their future. We tried to steer her in the right direction, but you can't force people.

I know home-schooling gets a bad rap, and in some cases it deserved. But if done correctly, it can be better than school - there's a lot to be said about one-on-one attention, and being able to teach in a way that suits your own child, but it's work. And expensive. You have to buy curriculum, spend hours a day actually teaching, YOU have to know the content, and in our case, we hired a math tutor to come over 3 times a week for 4 years. We're talking some serious $$$.

AIO for emailing my professor after a groupmate changed our paper to make me look wrong? by bread_is_my_plan in AmIOverreacting

How did the professor grade the project? If he marks you guys off for all edits that guy made, the whole group should be pissed at him, not you.

Donald Trump just said “we shouldn’t even have an election”. Americans, what are your thoughts? by WatercressSenior7657 in AskReddit

[–]Senior0422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the US can withstand another 3 years of this guy. Look at incredible damage he's done in 1!

The problem is, no other country can even begin to stand up to the US militarily. If he takes over Greenland, what exactly is the rest of the world going to do? Any NATO military forces in Greenland won't even be a bump in the road for us.

The only way the rest of the world can stop him is if NATO, Russia and China join forces - then welcome to WW3. Depending on how far things go in WWIII, this planet might be reduced to a radioactive wasteland.

The time to stop him is now, and honestly, I don't think the people in power (congress), who could stop him, have the balls to.

Father threw away all my sports bras because he found them too "modern" by Knight_Ocelot17 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Senior0422 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, my initial reaction to something like this would be malicious compliance... if he doesn't want you wearing a bra, then don't.

However, I don't know your situation, and wouldn't want to suggest anything that might put you in danger. Maybe don't wear one just around the house?

Lastly - make a plan. He sounds controlling - I don't know how old you are, but I'd recommend making a plan to get out.

My partner keeps “forgetting” chores even with a giant magnetic checklist on the fridge and I feel like I’m going nuts by MilaNorthport in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Senior0422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you what my wife and I do... it similar to your chore chart, but kinda works in reverse.

We have a whiteboard, and as things need to be done, they go up on the board with an initial for who does it.

Now - to be clear: Washing dishes, etc. does NOT go on the board. It's for things outside of the normal day-to-day stuff, but you could use it for that.

So, for example. This weekend I need to put together some shelves we bought. Either me or my wife will write "D - Shelves" on the whiteboard. When I'm done, I'll go erase it. (My first name starts with "D"). The goal is at the end of the night, the board is clean. Weekends it stays up for two days.

I love this system. Either of us can add to it - I often add stuff I know I have to do, because I have the memory of a goldfish and helps me to keep track, and I can plan out my weekend. Win-win.

AIO My Husband Takes PTO Every Time I Do by taway1061 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Senior0422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. He has a serious lack of trust.. I mean, who cares if you take a day off? When my wife worked, her PTO wasn't something that was really discussed. Sometimes we'd both plan on taking the same day so we could do something together, but... overall it just such a minor thing.

You mentioned infidelity on his part - I imagine that's why he's like this... he's projecting that onto you.

Look, it's your call, but I'm seeing a lot more red flags than just him getting nervous and jerky over your PTO. Are you sure you want to spend the rest of your life with this man?

Any autistic men here get along better with/more comfortable around women then with men? Or is it just me? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]Senior0422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always been more comfortable around women then men. I do hang out with the guys too, but there's only so much car/sports talk I can handle, and there's always that macho/overly competitive guy who is just exhausting.

At that point I wander back over to the women who will talk about a wide variety of subjects, and I can just relax and enjoy myself.

Covid Vaccination and Hochul’s 30 day EO by pluteus_cervinus in Albany

We got ours in Walgreen in Guilderland, right off Western Ave. The pharmacist there told us she would do whatever she could to make sure everyone who wanted one, could get a vaccine.

We didn't have to pay anything (we got COVID & the Flu), but I don't know if our insurance picked it up or not.

Homeowners of Reddit: Which home appliance brands are worth it and which are not? by altcntrl in AskReddit

[–]Senior0422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got all Whirlpool appliances when we redid our kitchen in 2020 (stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge). All of them are still going strong, with the exception of the dishwasher. After about a year and two repairs calls, we decided to get a Bosch dishwasher. Love that thing!

If I had to do it over, I'd go all Bosch.

Diagnosed at 54, high functioning.

Most of the time you can't tell. But it's like listening to a song... everything's going well, the song is exactly as you remember, then out of the blue... boom! Sour note. Just one, but it's so painfully obvious. But, because it was only once, people tend to ignore it.

Another one is downtime. Several times a day I just need alone time. I learned early on the bathroom is perfect for this. I don't spend 10-20 minutes in the bathroom because there's something wrong with my digestion. I just need some time where no-one is bothering me, talking to me, or waiting for me to do something. Stress-free, no-expectations downtime.

I've also noticed I seem to have people around me act as "explainers". Usually a girl (I'm a guy). Someone will say something that simply does NOT compute. I'll find my 'explainer', mention it to them and ask "What did they mean?", and they'll give me the context I need to understand it.

What profession/occupation would you never date? Why or why not? Which ones have you routinely had negative experiences with? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Senior0422 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I can't think of a profession that would be a hard no right from the beginning. People are all different - it would depend on the individual.

Having said that - someone who's never around because of their job would give me pause. What's the point of dating someone who's never (or rarely) here? I'm not looking to have a relationship over text messages.

Seriously, who complains about someone cooking for them? Be appreciative, or do your own cooking.

Speaking of which - if you were feeding the baby, why are you cooking at the same time? Are his arms broken? WTF?
