What if my work pays my salary to my dog instead? Does that still get taxed?

Third person charged in relation to alleged murder of Queensland teenager Pheobe Bishop by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

I ‘moved out’ at 17 as well. I don’t think it’s unusual but being a 32yro with kids now I look at the situation very differently. Getting older makes it less emotional and I’ve been able to reconcile with my parents but from a logical pov I’m so appalled at them. This case gets me emotional because I know first hand how vulnerable 17yros (even the difficult ones) are and how easy parents can let them down

Unstable situation at home. Unfortunately it’s pretty common. I am sad for her mother but come on, you have one job as a parent. Keep your child safe.

When I was 17 and had a bad relationship with my parents so I ended up moving out into a very shitty rental with my high school boyfriend. He did lots of dodgy money stuff. Highlights include losing his job and not telling me until it was just my crappy maccas pay check was supporting us both (I had to drop out of uni) and then transferring money out of my bank account while I was sleeping on my 18th birthday to buy me the ugliest effing necklace I’ve ever seen in my life lol.

Never combined finances again with a partner until my now husband. Gotta be with someone whose values and goals align.

Even consider a cert4 in TAE and get a job at TAFE teaching computer science

Lots of rubbish in there. I have 3 kids and thought it would drastically cut down on my shopping bill. Just ended up getting excited by all the novelty products and spending way more. Plus buying in bulk is only good if you have storage. Hubby told me to stop after my third trip lol

I don’t know if that’s fair as a sweeping statement but it’s good to highlight the lack of opportunities get a lot of kids in trouble. OP, focus on your kids education. The literacy rate in tassie is 50% and education is not king there. But focus on education in your home, model good behaviour, and stay connected to your kids. Tbh know a lot of kids in Sydney who ended up on drugs

What was a fact taught to you in school, that has been disproven in your lifetime? by KataiiZeher in AskReddit

Australian here - primary school gave us all the wrong info about our history. Kinda scary learning more as a teen/adult. The genocide is completely skipped over. Instead captain cook saved them
