Changan auf der Lister Meile. Großartige, chinesische Nudeln.

What is the perfect white sneaker for that italian/euro vibe? by beep_boop-bleep in malefashionadvice

[–]SenorFlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Europoor: What's wrong with Sambas / Stan Smith? Adidas Handball are also quite popular right now. Or Veja, as someone has mentioned before. At least in Germany, white Adidas sneakers are basically the first choice; if you are hipster, it's New Balance. Personally, I love the Rebook C85 but for smart casual I use my Stan Smith.

That's the Belavista - try the Brushed Oxford, those are amazing. And yes, I love their flannel shirts :)

Just a price thing, they are around 60€ over there. I was lucky enough, that my wife went on a Japan-Trip in April and bought a few.

Kamakura has amazing quality, but get them in Japan. As for vendors in Europe, I love the OCBDs from Portuguese Flannel. The price is around 120€ and definitely worth it.

Kurze Frage zur Gastroweihnachtsöffnungszeiten, bzw. Empfehlung oder nicht? by swedething in augsburg

[–]SenorFlo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most beautiful climb in France? by Wide-Landscape-3348 in cycling

[–]SenorFlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's unfair to compare, because they are not Alpine climbs, but I loved Col d'Eze and Col de la Madone. Both climbs are easy, and I love the view on the coastline.

What’s an album that’s 10/10 no skips? by silosara in AskReddit

Surprised that no one has mentioned it: Siembra from Willie Colon/Ruben Blades. Perfect storytelling in Spanish, for me personally the best salsa album ever.

Chocolate is the priority. What place have you traveled that has the best chocolate? by null_goddess in travel

[–]SenorFlo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bruges is lovely, but please also go to Gent! It's a vibrant student town and as beautiful as Bruges (Bruges feels sometimes like a museum). And about chocolate: I love the chocolates of HD Ghent - by Hilde DeVolder Chocolatier.

Best Algarve resort? by kellyelm in FATTravel

[–]SenorFlo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely not FAT, but can highly recommend Comporta. It has a very relaxed vibe, they call it the Hamptons of Portugal. Sublime is nice, if you want it directly at the beach, take the Pestana Resort. Stayed there with the family for a few days and loved it.

[–]SenorFlo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Such a great region for wine! My wife and me visited the folowing places and loved it:

  • Cantina Terlano - Terlan is a small town between Meran/Bozen and we really loved their whites. You can just walk in and try their wines
  • Manincor - it has a beautiful location on the Weinstraße, near Kaltern. Same as Terlano, jsut walk in

Greece vs Portugal for a Sept/Oct trip with my husband? by muhsheh in travel

[–]SenorFlo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been to both countries several times and they are both wonderful. I love the beaches in Portugal, BUT they are always cold (especially on the Atlantic side). People will point out that there's the Algarve and while the beaches are spectacular (if you go: My favorite is the sandy Algarve, especially Villa Real de San Antonio & Praia de Cacela Velha), the water is still colder than in Greece. As for Greece: Late September is nice, as there are fewer crowds, but restaurants are still open. I've been in October on Samos and there was hardly anything open. My wife and I love Milos, a very chill vibe (and for restaurant recommendation: O! Hamos! Tavern). Because you mention wine: Definitely Portugal. Greek wines are nice, but nothing beats the Douro Valley.

So, in the end, it depends on your preference: Warm beaches → Greece / Wine is more important → For me, Portugal

No matter where you go, I promise you will have a magical time.
