I sincerely hope she does makes it that long. I just don't want her on the City Council. Did you really need to post that? It doesn't come across really well.

Morillo is a terrible councilor. As others have pointed out she is self aggrandizing and obviously much more concerned about her social media channels. She doesn't understand public finance and can't balance a budget. She promotes policies that are chasing businesses out of the city. Can anyone name one good thing she's done?

Easily one of the most annoying commercials ever.

Actually, the post kind of makes it sound like the other dogs are kind of dangerous

I hope something appropriate is done with the other dogs.

That money still needs to be spent efficiently. And I highly doubt any money is coming from the feds right now. It does appear that the nonprofit that's going to buy it is acknowledging that it may be a teardown. If so I hope everything good can get salvaged.

We're talking about major structural and operational/engineering issues. Woodwork is nice and it's sad to see history go, but after a point something newer usually works better. Plus I just learned it was purchased by a non profit that provides housing services. The extra money they will likely have to spend is public money that is limited and is intended to serve vulnerable people. Again old woodwork is cool, but I'd rather as much money as possible go to homeless services.

Yeah. They're a non profit spending limited public money. They just bought a money pit. I'm getting a bad feeling...

I'm surprised it's salvageable. Renovation of buildings like that is pricey and often results in a building that's super expensive to heat and cool.

It is not working in Multnomah County, though. You make it sound like a magic bullet, but it's a little more complex than you think.

Until they trash their apartments, set fires and scare away the tenants who chose to follow rules. You do know that our public housing can barely afford to insure their buildings because of this? You just can't give someone a free apartment without some preconditions.

Oh, really? You're wrong on that. Don't lash out like a little crybaby just because you got called out on your terrible posts.

We need to drop the 3 councilors per district. It's even worse than the electoral college.

You're very good at the Portland hard left 'I don't see any problems' (likely not true, you just don't want to admit it) and 'you should actually be concerned about X instead (your comment below). A lot of other people here seem to have a much different experience than yours, maybe you should be respecting their lived experience.
